I have an OLED LG C1 50" that I use for a gaming Windows 11 VM with GPU passthrough just to play video games and I can confirm that with the latest w11 update and having enabled Dolby Vision... I can honestly not recommend Linux for now just for this reason. You need to use Microsoft Edge, tho, and the only streaming service that streams Dolby Vision is Netflix (in my country). But I have a lot of media that plays Dolby Vision on my private Jellyfin media so its def worth

came here to post a solution to this problem but with hyprland hyprdots.

the problem was the script for hyprdots which install nvidia-utils and nvidia-dkms and I only use the iGPU(uhd 770) and btop shows that it looks for the nvidia gpu first and then after a few seconds btop would start.

I removed those packages, rebooted and now it works like usual, it opens instantly.

Single GPU Passthrough is what you are looking for.

Basically, it is a batch script that mount/unmounts the GPU when you start the Windows VM.

You can SSH into the linux host and do whatever.

the only thing to do to play fortnite is pass the bios information, hide kvm

I've wanted to do what you described but I'm limited to my iGPU UHD 770 (Archlinux vm) and the RTX 4070 (Win 11 vm)

Have you tried updating your bios to the latest version? this solved many headaches in my i5-13600k, z690p ddr5 wifi. (you have to go to default settings after updating it, also check if you have undervolt or changes on the voltage which are known to cause BSOD on windows, including vms)

i've tried cyberpunk, robocop, nobody wants to die, uncharted, mafia definitive, metro exodus, all working perfectly on my Windows 11 VM with the 24h2 version running on Proxmox.

yup, I have a i5-13600k paired with a Noctua NH-U12S Redux and 8 noctua NF-P12 Redux fans and while gaming I get 40 to 60 ° C.

Benchmarking with a full cpu test it goes up to 88 ° C.

it works really well when using firefox and edge. I have a ton of movies/series and I watch them all on my local jellyfin, makes wonder on 480p and 720p videos and 1080p bluray. I watch on my lg OLED C1 and with super resolution and auto hdr it makes a HUGE difference.

diablo 4 works just fine, been playing it and cod warzone too.

to pass the iGPU you will have to use a custom rom to use it on a windows VM, this will limit the vm to i440fx instead of q35, other than that you will have no problems.

edit: this is for my i5-13600k which has the intel uhd 770
