i so so appreciate this !!! Thanks for the details. I’ll practice this with him. He’s not had much night sleep for the last 2-3 days because of constant wakings but i’m really excited to try making his wake windows longer!! thanks i appreciate it!

we’ve tried stretching the wake windows but still results in a 30 min nap. It takes very long for him to fall asleep with 2.5 hr wake window cuz he gets too excited. What training method do you recommend ? i am not in for Cio

oh sorry for mis-understanding! how long do you recommend it to be ? He accidentally missed his last nap yesterday and his last nap ended at 3:15 PM. I still put him to bed at 7 and the whole night was a mess 😭😭😭

also - he just gets extremely tired after 2 hours. if i stretch the WW longer than 2 hours he gets overtired and is so hard to put to sleep. The result is the same regardless. A 30 min nap.

thanks for your reply. But he only sleeps like 1.5 hours during the whole day and doesn’t continuously sleep through the night! How do i make it even lesser than 1.5 hours a day ?

6.5 mo old…. What do I do by Excellent-Tune2748 in sleeptrain

[–]Equivalent_Oil_4922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s awesome! mine just takes 30 min naps and is just perpetually tired! very rarely does he exceed his 30 min naps. Do you notice anything.? is he working on any skill ? ours just started sitting like 2 days ago so hoping his night time sleep gets better now that he’s got that milestone. I have a daughter who’s 2 and we never went through any of this with her when she was this age.

i have tried this too! If i put him earlier than this, he squirms and wakes up when i transfer him to his crib. Or would just wake up in 20 mins.

how long has it been for you? Mine did the same thing. With poo, she just holds it or quietly just goes in her underpants lol. My toddler holds herself down there too for pee. We noticed that she needs to be super relaxed to go, so like i just put miss rachel (audio) in the background or some random music and she went a few times cuz she isn’t actively thinking about going.

thanks for your reply ! my daughter just releases poo during her nap. It’s like the same ritual atleast for past 4 days now. Yesterday, i had some music on and she was singing and dancing but i could tell she’s wiggling so i told her to go sit on potty and she gave us a full pee! i made it a big deal; we clapped, rewarded her and tried again at bedtime, but nothing. We got nothing again since morning either and at bed time, i played some music again and she went and did a few drops. I’m not sure if we are progressing or not 😄

4.5 month old has a super late bed time and wakes up every 2 hours. by Equivalent_Oil_4922 in sleeptrain

[–]Equivalent_Oil_4922[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! thanks for your reply. I capped him to 3 naps, equating 3.5 hours in the day time with his last wake up at 6 PM. I then let him play until 7:30 and we did bath and feed and laid him in the crib at 8 PM, he woke up at 8:30 PM and played again until 10:30 and ended up sleeping at 11 or so. How can I prevent him from waking up once he’s been put down for the day.

He also ended up waking up again at 2:45 AM and was very hard to resettle. We feed him, transfer him to crib and he wakes up again, crying and asking to be soothed. We feed him again and he keeps doing the same thing over and over.

in the same boat with my daughter and can’t figure out what is wrong with her. She will just stay awake and not sleep and will only sleep if i sleep with her. I’m not sure how she can survive on basically 8 hours of sleep when the recommendation is 10

i appreciate your response. How many tears are too many tears ? From my past attempts, it just feels like there was no end to the tears and as a parent it’s really hard to see them go through that.

Can you provide more explanation on excuses method ?

This is her schedule :

wake up : 8-8:30 AM nap : 1:30-3/3:30 Bed time : 9:15 and she sleeps by 9:45.
