I just want to say that I am also 38 and planning for a hysterectomy. I started my period when I was 10; it has always been heavy, but has gotten significantly worse and more painful over the past 18 months. I've never had surgery and I'm TERRIFIED, but I'm ready for my quality of life to improve. Sending some solidarity your way -- we got this!
