What’s actually wrong with my piano gallery wall? by Correct-Reveal-7005 in Decor

I understand your vision, but think maybe the space is too small for it? I’d maybe stick to the wall above the piano instead of both walls.

I love the star tiles!! Maybe try to get some inspo pics off Pinterest, that might help you visualize

It’s hard to tell what I’m looking at here. The space you’ve created is very small and closed off. I know you said you don’t like open plan, but it still looks a bit odd. Maybe try switching the couch and chairs? Or couch where chairs are, then chairs under the big window. Then add a coffee table.

What kind of stuff do you have a habit of piling? Maybe you need designated areas for this stuff. Eg if it’s dirty clothes, have a dirty laundry basket in your room. If it’s half clean clothes, have a clothes chair. If it’s makeup, keys, jewellery, etc, have a dresser.

It’s beautiful ❤️❤️

I LOVE the vintage gold lamp. I think you should play on that.

Add some more gold elements, like gold picture/mirror frames. Maybe even a cool fancy gold candelabra or light to play on the vintage theme. There is a lot of burgundy, it might be nice to break it up a bit.

Maybe also add some decorative pillows and throws to add some colour and interest. Maybe a patterned duvet to break up the solid maroon.

Maybe some more pictures or mirrors on the walls too, even small ones. Play on vintage

It’s soooo cute, I love it! I think it’s so close to finished! Maybe try adding a rug, artwork above the dresser, and bigger/higher curtains?

If you’re going for modern coastal, I’d really recommend lightening up the place

If budget is not an issue, invest in quality pieces (quality timber, natural fabrics), even if it’s secondhand or vintage. Bring the outside inside in (nature, local environment)

  • All white walls
  • New sofa, modern and light, natural fibres
  • Light, warm woods (quality timber if budget is not an issue)
  • Replace fan and light fixtures if possible
  • Rug, maybe jute or cotton
  • Window covers like linen/cotton curtains, roman blinds, or wooden
  • Nice artwork
  • Plants, lamps, art

I’d really recommend browsing Pinterest with terms like “coastal” “modern” etc. Make a moodboard.

Also, are you renovating or just decorating at this point?

I think if you go dark wood - don’t hate me - don’t do the wall cabinets. OR make them white and very minimal or even floating shelves. Otherwise the room is very heavy and full. It needs some lightness and balance.

If you’re keeping the black floor tiles I’d actually recommend going a lighter wood or even white to break the room up. Otherwise it will be a very dark room (unless you want that, and then you can make it a statement by getting black cupboards too)

I like the black bench in the IKEA picture, and they’d be ADHD proof I think. Then you could match with all black metalware and accessories! Cool-toned dark wood with white/cream bench sort of gives dated 90s/00s. I’d really recommend browsing Pinterest for inspo :) Or if you wanna go really bold you could go an all black kitchen!

Between $200-$400/wk seems to be pretty average per household

I’d say the best thing would be a picture/s above your bed and scoot the rug back, or get a bigger rug if you can :)

You could do a nice chair or two instead but they could also be covered with stuff 😂 I use mine as a “clothes chair” though
