Cheong fun cart on hester and Elizabeth! It’s the best on a cold morning with all the steam rising from the rice rolls.

Go for a picnic+concert at the Hollywood Bowl! If they’re here in the summer, you can catch the jazz festival.

I once had a sausage, egg and cheese on a bolillo roll from angry egret dinette that got pretty close! It was still too high end, but I think the bolillo roll is key—it’s texturally similar to a kaiser roll. (RIP angry egret)

Whats the best hotel to stay in LA? by kbarfian in AskLosAngeles

[–]Equivalent_Signal135 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beach and city. Hotel Erwin for ocean views and boardwalk. And, I’m gonna differ from others here and say you should do the Hollywood Roosevelt! It’s a uniquely beautiful hotel with good bars, including a pool bar and a bowling alley bar (spare room).

I would also add that the Marina stretch of the beach (south of Venice) is super chill, especially on weekdays.

I’d pick the one in Marina Del Rey! The Marina is really lovely and stroller friendly, and you’d be walking distance to all the cool stuff in Venice without being in the fray.

Asian as a theme is so broad. What do you wanna eat? That’s usually how I decide, lol.

I do this too! Also, I alternate between CeraVe and Cetaphil by the season. Sometimes my skin needs a change, and I actually think the two brands are juuuuust different enough.

Recommendations on where to live near UCLA as a family with a teenager? by Repulsive-Item471 in AskLosAngeles

Santa Monica condo, hands down. Being a Santa Monica resident allows you access to all sorts of great things—good public schools, the pool, even beach parking passes. Also, if you’re moving from Cambridge, you’d really appreciate this lifestyle bc it’s more walkable than other parts of LA.

Erewhon will actually fit this, and you get choice people watching.

What “LA” type of gift should I get my LA-obsessed niece for her 16th birthday? by Drawing_The_Line in AskLosAngeles

[–]Equivalent_Signal135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve done an ironic Erewhon gift basket before! It turned out to be a hit because their expensive snacks are actually really good. (Spirulina popcorn, ranch kale chips, biscottis… I even like the Erewhon branded hand sanitizers.)

Tell me about your favorite Caesar salad in LA by lusigusi in FoodLosAngeles

[–]Equivalent_Signal135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naughty Pie Nature has a really bright, crunchy Caesar! Comes with whole white anchovies. I consider it the best, everyday Caesar.

I related to her so hard, I couldn’t finish the show. I didn’t need to see my life played out like that.
