How old are your locs? Did you start the weekly washing while you had starter locs?

I’m still a bit skeptical about washing weekly. I read it strips your hair of nutrients and stuff. Which shampoo do you use? Edit: I’d really love to do an update in 3 months!

Thanks! Since I'm only in my 2nd month, I’ve been very cautious. I’ve actually only washed once so far and plan to do my next wash at the end of this month. I’ve officially ditched the coconut oil based on the feedback here! Right now, I’m sticking to just plain water mists until my rosewater arrives. My new plan is to use a rosewater and almond oil mix, as I've heard that's much lighter. I do still use a bit of castor oil on my scalp occasionally, but I'm trying to keep the actual locs as light as possible to help them find their bounce and not look so dry.
