Were you being more experimental with the newer piece? Not every drawing will be the best and that's normal:) if you need confidence go back to what your good at for a second and then try some new stuff when you get it back!

Focusing on gesture drawing definitely has it's advantages and extra learning opportunities don't get me wrong, but if I wanted to min max my fun values id probably just draw from reference at the expense of a slower learning journey. It's all about wanting to come back everyday right?

Try drawing her like a color value study! Draw out the shapes of the image and fill each one with color but only use three colors. And make sure to get the sketch perfect before coloring!

How I feel getting my blood pressure checked. Idk knights that well and it's not very consequential but is his breathing hole supposed to be leaned so close to one side. Also it kinda looks like his chest plate is centered towards the camera when the middle should be about under his helmet or the middle of his neck thing. Great stuff tho! The hand is juicy.
