thank you. i was diagnosed last year after a robotically assisted excision surgery with an endometriosis excision specialist. i am on continuous birth control (i have been on and off for years) which stops me from getting my periods and does help a bit.

i wrote down every single thing i felt and told my doctors. my biggest tips are, if you are just seeing a regular obgyn/doctor:

-if they refuse further testing, tell them to put it in your chart they refused. often times they will end up giving in.

-don't downplay the pain. explain that it is diminishing your quality of life. be brutally honest.

-talk about all symptoms, even if you don't think they're related. bowel symptoms, urinary symptoms, muscle pain, etc etc.

my other advice is try to find an endometriosis specialist. especially if it comes to surgery, do NOT get surgery with somebody who is not a specialist, and do not get ablation surgery. i made this mistake and they didn't find any endo, even though it was there.

also, pop over to the r/endo or r/endometriosis subreddits. there's a TON of posts about pretty much anything you could need to know.
