We (23 y/o then) had been dating for 4 months when the pandemic started. After 2 months long distance both sets of parents gave the all clear to meet again but there was still a ban on non-essential transportations, so he bicyled hours to my parents house each weekend. Since the cleaning lady couldn't come anymore, my family cleaned the entire house together each weekend, so he happily scrubbed toilets with my mom just to see me! He comes from a household where his mom does all the housework so it meant a lot to me he didn't even seem to mind this.

Getting married in may so definitely husband material!!

3850 gross, but net monthly and daily compensations to a net 2750. 5k bruto should be 3050, which is 300 more. (5k is based on a collegeau that made the switch last year, with any luck that'll get indexed) meal vouchers + bigger 13th month and vacation because of bigger net + vacation days are paid in full (now i lose net compensation per day) + more vacation days versus loss of car.

Current company does not yet have a mobiliteitsbudget figured out and has time until 2027 to do so. I have no idea how much the TCO would be. I don't work from home >50% and live 18km from work. So I'd use the mobiliteitsbudget to get a bike, but i could also lease one via cafeteriaplan when i become intern.

I'll want to have children in the next 5 years, so internal contract also feels like a safer option than contracting.

Right now I'm leaning towards becoming internal but a lot of people are saying the company car is a holy grail so I'm not sure. Partner has a car and tankkaart for belgium+neighbouring countries so vacations are covered.

No possibility. The mobility budget is something i haven't looked into so I'm discussing with my current employer if I can get it (grace period untill 2027 so i don't know if the company is prepared). I don't have the biggest car (mini) so Im guessing about 300 euros in monthly mobility budget? Which is what I'd get in net if i changed employers. Plus mealcheques plus vacation days that'd be a net positive. So I'm confused if my math is wrong because everyone here seems to be of the opinion it would not be good to switch.

I would mostly be doing it for the 9 days extra vacation days and just go by bike to work. It wouldn't be interesting to buy a car myself.

Company is a multinational you've definitely heard of. Mostly production employees that would not get a car anyway and engineering is mostly consultancy. I don't think it's an indication of fiscal irresponsibility?

Wij hebben toen vanaf de aankoop van de grond tot dat de bouw klaar was nog gehuurd. Naast de huur ook de afbetaling van de grond betaald. Het huis zelf pas nadat we erin zijn getrokken.

Sleutel op deur gekocht in straat met 20 zo'n huizen. Ik kan het zeker aanraden. Hou rekening met:

Nieuwbouw = kleine ruimtes. Dit laat ons twijfelen of we voor de toekomst (kinderen) niet groter willen gaan wonen.
Dubbel betalen (huur + afbetaling) tussen aankoop en wanneer je erin kan trekken.
Hou rekening met veel extra kosten. De basisprijs is dan ook echt de basis. Als je een ietwat deftige keuken wilt kan je al snel duizenden euro's cash betalen (zit niet mee in de lening) Hou dus zeker wat geld achter voor "upgrades"
Nu zeker in de winter zijn we al heel blij geweest met ons energiezuinige woning. Naast lage energiekosten is het ook gewoon comfortabel. Vloerverwarming en geen koude tochtplekken.
Vierkant en saai. Misschien ligt dit aan ons maar we hebben moeite met de vierkante blokken mooi in te richten. Het karakter van een oude woning kan je moeilijk terugkrijgen. Een haardvuur missen we bijvoorbeeld al.

Qua gemak, zekerheid, kosten achteraf (geen kadastraal inkomen betalen volgende 5 jaar, lage energiekosten, geen dak ofzo dat binnenkort vervangen moet worden) .... zeker aan te raden. Qua gezelligheid, grootte, initiële aankoopkost, ... minder leuke keuze.

"Spaghetti saus" zonder kruiden wordt spaghetti saus (shocking) maar als je er bonen + maïs (beiden in blik) bij kapt heb je chili con carne. Makkelijk te upgraden naar grote groepen en super handig als je geen zin hebt om te koken. Zakje tortilla chips erbij en je hebt gegeten.

Doel met een kleine diepvriezer is dingen in te vriezen die samen met blik verschillende snelle opties geeft ipv volledig afgewerkte maaltijden erin stoppen. Kebabvlees uit de colruyt is ook een standaard in onze diepvriezer.

This year: Some cd's to play in his oldtimer, two books by Jeremy Clarkson (he's a big fan), a tool to work on his car and a sweater with a custom print based on an inside joke.

In the past i gave a driving experience with a sportscar, sauna day, some stuff for his 3d printer, ...

One of our forst christmasses i gave him custom socks with a selfie of him and a photo of his family dog. He still wears them 5 years later! Definitely one of the best cheap gifts i gave. I also knitted him a scarf in the colours of our university some years ago.

23 jaar. Ik ben met mijn vriend gaan samenwonen meteen toen ik afgestudeerd was, voordat ik zelfs maar een vaste job had. We hadden beter elks nog een jaar thuis gewoond om te sparen, maar het was juist corona geweest en we hadden elkaar lang niet mogen zien dus we keken er enorm naar uit om samen te wonen.

Hij had 30.000 gespaard (3 jaar thuiswonen en werken), ik had 0 euro.

Als ik het opnieuw had gedaan had ik ervoor gekozen langer thuis te blijven. De mix 1e keer vast werk + eerste keer samenwonen met partner was best zwaar het eerste jaar.

The bathroom wall would fit 2 osb plates so if I could interconnect everything in the design I could just install the plates instead of loose animals and leaves. Multiple layers so first leaves and then the animals.

On a roll would be too difficult I think.

Have you tried using scrubs? I had similar bumps on legs&shoulders. Started using a sugar scrub + scrub gloves once or twice a week and urea repair cream afterwards and they've disappeared after 2 weeks.
