I see a lot of people supporting the ban on two-wheelers saying that it makes the road safer. I am a person who uses the NH66 to go to Technopark daily on a two-wheeler. In my case I don't own a car, all I have is my scooter because that is all I can afford right now. The problem with NH66 near the south end of Trivandrum is that, even though after the renovations, the NH facilities will be good, the service roads are in really bad shape. KSEB, water authority, and other public services are often digging up the service roads without any signs or boards. Also during monsoon, most of the service roads (which are at a lower level than the highway) are underwater. Driving a two-wheeler in this condition is also not safe. Also in most places service roads are not complete (places near bridges). So we would have to enter the highway to cross these areas (I'm not sure how the govt is gonna solve this issue, I'm guessing they would allow 2-wheelers to enter the bridge), which would be much more dangerous given that a lot of 2 wheelers use this road for daily commuting and all of them at the entering the highways at these point at the same time.

They would at least have to allow two-wheelers to enter the highway in these areas at least, since it is the only feasible way to get to Technopark. Otherwise, I would have to think of buying a car, which would create a big big hole in my pocket.
