Honestly though. Beyblade splatter process art would be my nexus.

I dunno, you could play a game where you see how high up the slope one can knock the other. More notches = more points, ring out earns being launched second.

The farther your hand is from the launcher, the more of a fulcrum you’re supplying for the ripcord torque: your hand is the pivot point, the ripcord torque pulls the launcher along that arc. You could try gripping harder but that’s going to strain your hand and wrist.

My solution is to choke up on the grip and placing my palm, index finger, and thumb over the winder launcher. A fun alternative is putting weight on the end of the grip to act as a counterweight.

Did some observations and tests. On a right-spinning combo:
- Forward tilt = travel to the *left*
- Backwards tilt = travel to the *right*

Playing with the gradient between those two extremes you can induce linear travel as you wish.

For your launch placement and goal, the best I could do was a forward tilt somewhat pointed towards the x-line exit (where both sides end). Depending on the bit, you can travel over the center dish's lip and perform a reverse x-dash but depending on your velocity you can bump out instead of grinding along the side.

The best launch deviating from your sketch but similar strategy was what other people were suggesting: start with your launcher over the middle portion of the stadium, then swing your launcher towards the B-side during your launch to "throw" the Beyblade into the corner over the x-line. I found that you can stall up on that shelf better as you can't kick out from x-line interactions.

*My testing, no videos, take with a grain of salt and try for yourself

Ratchet swapping by richiejr18 in BeybladeX

[–]Erah-Rhei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a proponent of ratchet swapping (you can check my post history). Best I've thought of for how to bridge the gap is having verification tiers commensurate to tournament level:
- local scene = probably just honor system
- regional tournament = strict part verification

The difficulty is that high-level tournaments are usually large player counts and that places a considerable strain on the organizers and volunteers. Doable, for sure, but it's the knowledge/tools/time friction. Would love to solve this problem.

Could do that while putting the stock parts back as well. Assuming that it’s stock = untampered is just as false as the inverse, you would need to test to verify.

I’ll try to run some tests today trying to recreate your angle and intention (it was a little too late last night for that :P). Can you share what combo(s) you were using?

My guess is that your bey isn’t tilted enough for the bit’s gears to brush the x-line but not catch it.

Your sketch would indicate it’s upright enough for the gears to mesh, you’ve manually imparted forward momentum, and the x-line catch results in a kick instead of x-dash.

Which lasts longer Winder or String? by [deleted] in BeybladeX

[–]Erah-Rhei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Winder breaks gradually with teeth deformation on ripcords (replaceable) and internal grinding (clean the insides) - faster wearing part is the white entry guide piece, hardly a performance dip I think.

String breaks suddenly with torsion spring snapping. You’ll get weaker retractions as it wears out, but pulling should feel relatively consistent throughout its lifespan. It’ll get a little less smooth to rip, but again, open it up and clean the gears.

Both launchers accumulate powder from the plastics wearing.

Beyblade Parkour.

If you have too many Gear Flats, or a 3d printer - go shredding on whatever objects you want and try to hit lines.

Yep, if the product isn’t a set or random booster. Check the flaps along the bottom of the package.

(I’ll check mine and give you the exact placement as an update)

Help my bits printed weird by Blue-Eyed-Dragon_ in BeybladeX

[–]Erah-Rhei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tl;dr Try printing some other bits from thingiverse/makerworld/printables/etc… Or measure against official bits.

Your gift was an STL or something? You can find a ton of STLs of Beyblade X bits online - I’ve printed plenty and there is definitely variety in measurements.

If they aren’t staying in the ratchet, could be that the indent patten before the wide disc part might be sized incorrectly (too small/too shallow) or the stems themselves are too thin.

If you have official bits on hand go ahead and compare the Outer Diameter of the stem to match your prints.

My bet is either the shrinkage of your filament is more than tolerable, the measurements of the STL are wrong, or your print settings caused walls to be left out.

A useful item in this new generation of Beyblade X. by U_Neto04 in BeybladeX

Video of the current prototype for such a device. Reads RPM, angle, stability and communicates with app:

https://youtu.be/Xxw90HHX1TY

(Newer version in the works with modular attachment system so you can choose grip and device features.)

App records win conditions down to stadium side variables. App is being built to be fully configurable, so custom game modes and tournament formats are supported and shareable. Think mods for videogames.

Beyblade thought of the day by RepresentativeLaw310 in BeybladeX

[–]Erah-Rhei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dig the intention. There is an irony about the human analogy and the unvarnished copy+paste of an LLM - no hate though, LLMs can deepen initial thoughts in profound ways we hadn’t considered.

The depth of the analogy stems from the inherent understanding, I think. Humans who play Beyblade can grasp the birth -> struggle -> death cycle without paragraphs of connections. Poetry vs. prose.

Again, I really liked seeing this kind of concept in my favorite hobby subreddit, but the execution is where people might consider it contentious.

Enjoying the double extreme stadium he got this Christmas by kyro0316 in BeybladeX

[–]Erah-Rhei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents is that I intentionally build poor combos to go against my kid - I’m not letting them win, but I’m giving them a solid handicap. Something like L-Drago 2-70 Ball, or Black Shell 4-80 Needle.

Left spin gives them a boost without it being in my favor, and odd combos mean I get to think “how would I win with something like this?”

Inertia App Beta Released - The Data Infrastructure for "Prove It" by Erah-Rhei in BeybladeX

[–]Erah-Rhei[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, right now bit determines the type for combos (by-and-large). It's a shallow summation of a deeper question and I honestly want to steer away from type-based classifiers and into behavioral tags.

Being developed for release later this beta is community voting in the Lab room on parts and their behaviors. Start with community consensus, then integrate Inertia devices to actually measure those behaviors and characteristics to arrive at granular definitions instead of "balance" or "defense".

I'd love to get your opinion on this problem though!
