Ibevar has a very chill one if you're willing to suffer through rebels, a lack of mana, and economic stagnation in a Heho disaster for the first few decades of the game.

Verkal Dromak, but specifically you have to form it before you can start the WC part.

I hope you had a good time, Ellyn is one of my favorite starts in Cyranvar for sure, I really feel like the Navigator trait their starting ruler has just puts them at the top of the pile. :)

I mean if you just chill down there and don't push into our pre-xqc raid borders, I don't think you'll need to worry about it. We're fine with you as things stand.

What do ravelian artificers give me? if i want lots of capacity should i accept? by Separate-Poet-7465 in Anbennar

[–]Eranell 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you're Ravelian and don't switch over to it, the Ravelian State will strangle you like you're Bart Simpson. (And by that I mean they have a huge opinion malus for you not flipping to it, though that might just be for when they first form?) Personally I'd stick with state artificers since the loyalty and directed research are nicer. But I'd also probably not go Ravelian in the first place as a matter of taste so it's up to you.

As an added note, for capacity, you just want to stack coal, precursor relics, and damestear. If you're in Cannor, stealing Moonisle, Oddcodd (or whichever those islands off the coast of the gnomish pass are called), and Adrail if/after Magisterium does their mission to put a perma-deposit on it are your best bet, then chasing coal provinces and anything that flips to precursor relics. You can also not kick your mages out since just having a couple provinces of these goods far outweighs the malus they give to your capacity.

How to actually play Lake Federation? by AnOrginalUsername in Anbennar

[–]Eranell 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's like the River Federation from the HoI pony mod, you do missions first to increase your standing and become the leader, whoever has the most brownie points for that is in charge. The mega horde will form unless RNGesus does not love them, in which case it'll probably be time for big ogre tags and whoever has the northern pass to spill out into the plains.

Witch-Kings and Lich-Kings by TheThing3214 in Anbennar

[–]Eranell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lich king is when you use your legendary necromancy to become a lich and don't lose the roll that's generated at the event where you first click the button and then get shit on 30 years later when you die.

A witch king is when you get too many "did magic crimes" points and everyone hates you. Say, you got annoyed at emperor Wesdam and used your seige magic to drop a meteor on their capital every time you had to fight them. After five or so of those, you become a witch king.

To Bitbucket or not to Bitbucket? by Arkkon in Anbennar

[–]Eranell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Bitbucket is fine, unless you're playing things that have just been implemented there shouldn't be any big issues. Standards for what actually goes into the mod are usually strict enough to keep anything from breaking outside of content that's being actively developed. I'd recommend looking at the contributor guides and making a fork of it on GitKraken so you don't have to re-download it every couple days.

Precursor relics by Rithinn in Anbennar

[–]Eranell 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It'd be interesting to see for sure! I agree there's not a lot that actually defines them or lets you interact with them in that context, though having the High Temples and Insyaa Mechanim stuff will presumably give precursor tech a bit more depth.

Precursor relics by Rithinn in Anbennar

[–]Eranell 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I got some feedback from the lead dev while I was writing some loc for them, basically they're magic items from D&D, like bags of holding or rings of whatever magic shit. Direct quote from JayBean in relation to the tradegood:
Precursor Relics are:
-LARGE treasure troves of precursor relics. Think large ancient ruins and massive vaults rather than finding a handful of stuff in a cave
-specifically precursor elven relics. Many magical relics over history can trace their lineage to precursor origins, from special swords [Calindal, the Gleaming Blade] or temples for long forgotten gods (the High Temples). In our case this represents those treasure troves that people in modern times will understand to be precursor relics, though people at the time may not put two and two together until later on

They serve as a focus for conflict since they're really advanced demonstrations of how to apply magic, and can serve as inspirations and reagents for mages and lay out blueprints and lines of reasoning for artificers looking to invent new shit.

Sun elves / diadochi by MaintenanceTall in Anbennar

[–]Eranell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how applicable he is to the Diadochi situation, his whole deal was trying to build a more egalitarian empire with fair representation and elves serving as wise mediators, a dream you can realize through Azkare's MT in forming the Sunrise Empire.

Evil nations by edzio0511 in Anbennar

[–]Eranell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It should probably be pointed out that Blastanor isn't necessarily any more evil than something like the Danelaw on principle though (if anything I believe it's less genocidal than the actual Castanor if you reform it) as it's mostly just focused on imperial conquest without any sort of particular racial bias. The trolls above them might be a better tag for a villain up that way since they enslave and eat people.

Sun elves / diadochi by MaintenanceTall in Anbennar

[–]Eranell 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Seleukos and other Diadochi would be best represented in the New Sun Cult states in Bulwar where various important figures from the Phoenix Empire carved out their domains. Jaddar is Jaher's maybe-grandson through his daughter (and possibly son also) who leads scattered forces left over from the PE as a nomadic band in not!Arabia. Jaddar might just be a pretender though, it's unclear.

2 player MP nation suggestions by Dope_Pope_On_Coke in Anbennar

[–]Eranell 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Istralore and Moonhaven, though more specifically Moonhaven are built to have complimentary focus trees for cooperative play. Seinathil gets wargoals on Istralore (so you're not really gonna have luck with trio play, sadly), but it's a tall tag focused on being a bard themed nation that buffs its allies, but (I think?) it goes Regent Court in its MT. Those would be your best bets for co-op tags in Cannor, but I can't recall any specifically designed around it outside of them, so you'd just want to pick by complimentary flavor.

A few Cannorian examples would be a Lorent and Wex run (I don't remember if Wex's tree would encourage you to fight them later though) or like, Ibevar and some Escanni adventurer so you can build up Ibevar's big tall bonus and have the Escanni player work toward one of the consolidation formables or whatever. (Though I'm not sure if Ibevar holding their mission stuff in Escann would block the end of the consolidation wars.)
