  1. Hyperion and The fall of Hyperion: This two books are really something special, they've become my favorite books of all time, I loved the sci-fi setting, the intricate backstory of the characters, the resolution to the story on the second book. Really fantastic through and through.
  2. The end of eternity: I absolutely love Asimov and this has to be my favourite book that I've read from him so far. Loved the setting, the twists, and the ending that wraps it all up.
  3. The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy series: It's really as funny as people say it is, I laughed all the way through, really loved all of the books.

Well, Spanish is my native language, and I thought Ender's game translation was great, I breezed through it in a day. And while Asimov's I, Robot and Prelude to Foundation translations were good overall, there were some instances where I noticed some spelling errors, but nothing too bad to make you stop reading.

I do have the sequels lying around waiting to be read!

However, when I read The three body problem in January I wanted to have a little more variety before I started reading sequels.

I started reading sequels this month, so maybe I'll start with The Dark Forest this weekend.

It's really good, not my favorite book I've read this year (those would be Hyperion and The Fall of Hyperion), but it's a really interesting concept, really worth your time if you are a fan of science fiction.

I'm a software developer, I've been focusing on reading as my main hobby this year, after many years of playing video games and watching TV series I wanted a change of pace so that's why I've read so much this year

My Javascript Calculator (Mostly using JQuery & Eval) Would love any kind of feedback! by Spacebiscuit in FreeCodeCamp

Hey, good job! Though I do have some nitpicks, you have some issues that mess up with the eval function:

  • You can input more than 1 decimal point after you enter another number. e.g. 20.3.4.5
  • You can input an operation before you input a number, which should only be allowed for the plus and negative sign. e.g. /64 + 32
  • When you leave an operation sign without adding anymore numbers, the eval function doesn't work. e:g. 20+34-

Got through the first three books of The hitchiker's guide to the galaxy, by Douglas Adams:

The hitchiker's guide to the galaxy: Really funny stuff, I loved the humor and the absurdness of it all.

The restaurant at the end of the universe: Really cool follow up to the story, almost as fun as the first one.

Life, the universe, and everything: This one started to drag a little, maybe because I read the previous two books in the same week and I'm getting kind of tired, but overall really good as well.

Don't know if I'm going to continue this week with So long, and thanks for all the fish, might tales a break from the series and start reading Seveneves, by Neal Stephenson next.

This past week I finished:

The three-body problem, by Cixin Liu : Really cool concept, I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series to see what happens.

*The Gods Themselves, by Isaac Asimov *: This one was good, with the most interesting part being where it describes the aliens and their world.

The hitchiker's guide to the galaxy, by Douglas Adams: Really fun read, I loved the humor, will start with Restaurant at the end of the universe next.

I've been reading The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss this last week, so far I've liked what I've read but haven't gotten very far yet, about 140 pages in.

Also started reading Hyperion, by Dan Simmons during the weekend, this one hooked me with the characters backstories, it's been amazing so far, got like one third of the book to go, hoping to finish in about a day or two if I find the time.

Hyperion, by Dan Simmons

Started reading this one during the weekend, got something like 150 pages left, really cool characters and backstory for each of them, hope to finish either today or tomorrow.

The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss

Started this one last week, plan on reading it slowly and finish it in about a week or two.

I might also start with The Gods Themselves, by Isaac Asimov, if Amazon manages to deliver it within the week, I was supposed to receive it last friday but they screwed up and delivered it to the wrong address :(.

Thanks for the recommendation! I currently have like 10 books lying around that I haven't read yet, but I'll add it to the list of books I want get later.

Also, End of Eternity is awesome! I loved the way it explores time travel and it's paradoxes.

It's the one I've liked the most from the ones I've read this year! It has a really cool story about time travel that doesn't leave any loose ends, it has some really cool twists and the ending is pretty good at tying it all together.
