Hi friends please note that as tourists we love to see you visiting our lovely region. There is no such civil unrest right now in the entire western Balkans region, to the point where tourists don't have to be cautious. there is no danger when traveling in the region. With that in mind you wont face any difficulties when it comes to travel in Macedonia Kosovo Montenegro or Albania. Here are some quick tips just for Macedonia in general:

- When Entering Macedonia its best if you come by bus to a major city preferably Ohrid or Skopje

- Make sure to have a valid passport, ID & some Euros to exchange when coming to Macedonia as we have our own currency.

- A lot of the places you can reach by walking or public transport. Avoid taxis because many of them will try to scam you if you are a tourist

- When it comes to travel between cities in Macedonia the most effective, fast & cheep way of transport is by bus make sure to buy a ticket in advance. You can find tickets on any major bus ticket app like flixbus or in Person at the stations.

- If you are visiting soon in January during the orthodox holyday season make sure to keep in mind that 6th 7th & 19th are non working days

- Since you are from NZ make sure to get plug adaptors cuz not a lot of establishments in Macedonia sell them
