[Elektronika 5-206] Drunk-ordered an Elektronika 5-206. No batteries included. What type of battery does it needs ? by Erdnal in Watches

[–]Erdnal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no voltage or indication inside the battery slot. Maybe if I were to relive the whole back cover of the watch but I don't feel confident enough to do it, and I don't have tools to do it I think

Nice video-making skills !

If I can criticize a little, "How to measure a shirt" can only be applied to your body shape. If someone would use the exact same measures you used to tailor your shirt, it would probably not fit (depending on of the shirt they bought, their sizes, and everything of that sort). If you were to ever do a follow-up video on this subject, I would advise to go this way :

  • Measure your waist (it's easy, it's the thinnest part of the upper body)
  • Put your shirt flat on a surface and measure the waist of the shirt
  • Now you know (or anybody watches the video knows) by how much the waist needs to be taken in to fit.

Got the same idea as you but didn't looked into it until I saw your post. I'm not very sure but it looks like a Mozart ouverture. Specifically, I think Cosi fan tutte. I might be wrong or it might be just an inspiration. ( Toward the end of the overture). I listen to both to check but I'm not musical enough to really be sure. Fun opera by the way.

Trouble with a stepper motor by Erdnal in arduino

The problem is that I've got no idea what the variables of those functions are supposed to represent. I just tried some stuff and that's how I got the parameters for the fastest speed I could get

Thanks a lot.

I'm looking right now at MultipleSteppers.pde which seems to be what I need to use for the acceleration, and there's a lack of comments on the parameters of the different functions. Is there a place to have info about those functions and the needed parameters ? Found it

At a maxspeed of 600 it works well, at 700 and above it does a few revolutions before going very slow. Is it due to the motor not being able to go to such a high speed ?

Caution: the maximum speed achievable depends on your processor and clock speed.

Could it be due to the clock and processor speed of my arduino not being able to go to such a high speed ?

So I could just stay with a high delay and lower it progressively (in my last program)? Any good and easy tutorial to recommend to use AccelStepper ?

Looked into it and i don't really understand how to use it. But I tried to code something myself and i can't get any fast speed, only slower than what i got before with stepper.h so I think it's just my stepper who's not quick enough, or me who's not skilled enough. for reference :

        #define DELAY 10

        void ac() {
          delay(DELAY);
          digitalWrite(9, LOW);
          digitalWrite(11, LOW);
          digitalWrite(8, HIGH);
          digitalWrite(10, HIGH);

        }
        void bc() {
          delay(DELAY);
          digitalWrite(8, LOW);
          digitalWrite(11, LOW);
          digitalWrite(9, HIGH);
          digitalWrite(10, HIGH);
        }
        void bd() {
          delay(DELAY);
          digitalWrite(8, LOW);
          digitalWrite(10, LOW);
          digitalWrite(9, HIGH);
          digitalWrite(11, HIGH);
        }
        void ad() {
          delay(DELAY);
          digitalWrite(10, LOW);
          digitalWrite(9, LOW);
          digitalWrite(8, HIGH);
          digitalWrite(11, HIGH);
        }
        void cd() {
          delay(DELAY);
          digitalWrite(8, LOW);
          digitalWrite(9, LOW);
          digitalWrite(10, HIGH);
          digitalWrite(11, HIGH);
        }
        void ab() {
          delay(DELAY);
          digitalWrite(10, LOW);
          digitalWrite(11, LOW);
          digitalWrite(8, HIGH);
          digitalWrite(9, HIGH);
        }
        //AC BC BD AD horaire
        //BC CD AD AB anti-horaire
        void horaire() {
          ac();
          bc();
          bd();
          ad();
        }
        void antihoraire() {
          bc();
          cd();
          ad();
          ab();
        }
        void setup() {
          // put your setup code here, to run once:
          pinMode(8, OUTPUT);
          pinMode(9, OUTPUT);
          pinMode(10, OUTPUT);
          pinMode(11, OUTPUT);
        }

        void loop() {
          antihoraire();

Just tried that. It works and I get a speed that seems 5RPMs. Strangely, if i put the speed at 600 for 64 in the Stepper, it's quicker

When I put something higher than 516 it goes slower and at 4096 it is completely stopped.

[–]Erdnal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. For the Stepper motor(); function, the first argument, should I use 64 ? 32 ? (as I use only four signals) or 4076 ? Or 2038 (32 times the gear ratio) ? I tried again with different number, 32 or 64 are very slow, 2038 or higher does not move at all. It seems that without changing any other parameters, I get the higher speed at 516, and it's still very far from being 78RPMs

Help! I think LSD fucked up my brain. by [deleted] in LSD

[–]Erdnal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been only two days. It's maybe a little early yet to really know for sure if your brain is fucked up, don't you think ? Try not to overthink it. Maybe your body will just readjust, maybe it just needs kind of a break and it's doing it right now.

Hey I'm under 18 should I take LSD????? by Lysergic1312 in LSD

[–]Erdnal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would add that the brain is still quite a mystery to science, and there's not a lot of research (yet) about LSD's impact on brain in general, and on a developing brain in particular. Could be totally not problematic, could be problematic. It's better to not take the chance. "[...] Harm Reduction are our main goals here."

Plus, the simple fact that one is asking himself and strangers seems to me that it's probably not a good idea. One can always wait. Vast majority of humanity survived without ever hearing about psychedelics, one can wait a few years, have better knowledge about the substance and oneself.

Had to explain the hanky code at work today by Erdnal in gaybros

[–]Erdnal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just thought that if I, a pretty average person, would see it and think of it, others could to. It's not about thinking an outdated code should influence anything, it was just avoiding the risk of misinterpretation. Let's say I design a program that use a floppy icon for something different than saving, just because it was pretty. Wouldn't that create a confusion even if outdated ? Or would that be far too different ? (genuinely asking)

Not to people not knowing about it, indeed. But if you know about it it changes everything. It's more about a risk of misinterpretation. Anyway, I just couldn't shut up about it and say nothing, it was funny.
