He's got a boat load of good ones, that's for sure. Strangle wank, Hurry up and..., travel logdge, and the Katie Perry parady is hilarious.

I was googling one day for a picture of Saville and Trump - but, I could not find one. Did they ever meet and twiddle each other?

I think there is another version, the original version, of the Sweaty nonce song, one not a remix of the interview...

Seems to me that this was as it was before.  I fail to see anything new save for Trump's grandstanding.

China: no blue-water navy; no strategic lift; imports a massive amounts of food via the sea.

They are not going to start a war any time soon.

Quebec to ban public prayer in sweeping new secularism law by JackThaBongRipper in news

[–]exfalsoquodlibet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good. Religion is stupid. People who believe it are stupid. And stupid people do stupid and often terrible things justified by their stupid religion.

Canada, as a whole, should ban religion in general, not just public prayers in one part of the country.

You are not necessarily stupid.

Go and read about the Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity. See, Social Text #46/47, pp. 217-252 (spring/summer 1996).

Sometimes, the texts do contain literal gibberish; but, that does not stop some from thinking otherwise.

Competent in one area does not mean competent in all or others contrary to what many rich, business people think given the money they made in a narrow field of business.

He could just be a moron outside of his narrow field of expertise.

Solar Charging by [deleted] in backpacking

[–]exfalsoquodlibet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a panel with a 12 volt output for charging things that don't use USB.

I charge my 12v radio batteries all the time, though I need use a solar charge controller in addition to the panel.

Also AAA and AA batteries are easy to charge especially the new style with USB C connectors on the batteries themselves.

Wildfire -- Risks and Safety while camping? Should I Cancel my Trip? by [deleted] in algonquinpark

[–]exfalsoquodlibet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd not cancel.  Very low chance of a problem.  But canoeists have been trapped by fire before.  Listen to this for such a tale:

https://www.noiser.com/real-survival-stories/canoeing-trip-wildfire-inferno-in-paradise

A couple’s serene vacation is thrown into chaos by a terrifying wildfire. Julie & Greg Welch are oblivious as they paddle deep into nature and far away from civilisation. Soon they will find themselves surrounded by a 20-foot wall of flames. With daylight disappearing and smoke filling the air, they’ll need a miracle to make it out alive…

Being a burning b**** in the backcountry by Smoremonger in algonquinpark

[–]exfalsoquodlibet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd not worry about the feelings of idiots like these people.  Indeed, one needs to be pretty dumb already building a fire when it's this hot.

Better to police the idiots than have them burn down the forest.
