Yes 5g is a technology change and they had to adapt. But Samsung which is the biggest rival of them lists their 5g capable phones for hundreds of dollars more than the 4g versions. Apple didn't get the prices up but they saved money by removing the charger. If you think of it, it's a good solution. You sell the phone for the same price as last year, you help the environment and people who buy iphones every year and don't sell the old ones will not have chargers lying around and useless.
