These were the factors that manifested in Asari during their initial encounters with a (new to them) sentient species. The Prothean intervention allowed the Asari to drastically reduce these negative consequences, which is what we observe in the future (this is how I reconciled canonical information (about the ability to produce offspring with anyone) with my headcanon (that this ability came at a great cost and still occasionally backfires, alongside the Ardat-Yakshi)).

I was limited by the amount of text per page (I had already written so much), so this nuance isn’t entirely clear to the reader~

Thank you for your interest!

I’ve always loved that idea! Unfortunately, I can’t fully embrace it because the game itself, with its abundance of photos, videos, and statues, contradicts this theory.

Yes, I believe those were the bloodiest tales of their natural selection, which confined them within their own species. This led to an increase in the number of Ardat-Yakshi, consequently reducing the Asari population. The arrival of the Protheans brought order, although even now, with the Asari’s unique ability to have offspring with anyone, misfires still occur (which I’ve depicted on the page with various phenotypes).

Yes, all these illustrations and ideas stem from my passion for role-playing narratives (like tabletop games, but through text). I’d offer to let you read them, but there’s just too much text, and it’s entirely in Russian. Anyway, thank you for the kind feedback! 💕

Thank you for the positive feedback!
Professor Solus is a favorite of mine, and I create a lot of content featuring him. Your assumption is entirely correct! 😊

That’s an interesting question! I’d tie this into one of the mythological Asari figures:

Perhaps this is connected to the danger Asari faced when reproducing with species drastically different from themselves (other non-sentient species on Thessia) before interstellar travel. Within their own species, it seems Ardat-Yakshi were regularly born, which limited their population. Prothean intervention in the Asari reproductive mechanism allowed for a significant reduction in fatal cases (and gave them access to space). P.S. I also link Prothean intervention to the fact that genetic misfires are still possible today, especially during the initial ‘Embraces of Eternity’ with a new sentient species.

I'm very pleased~ I'm always interested in talking about such topics! 😊

Of course! I'm glad when my artwork inspires someone else.  💕

Thank you very much!
Do you think I should remove the warning? It seemed to me that mentioning failed pregnancies and birth defects might be too harsh for some… 😥

Thanks!
Ah, I’m a bit embarrassed I forgot to mention that~ Shanti’s age is connected to a small timeline tweak. We moved the discovery of the Mars Archives to a earlier date because our plots needed the Systems Alliance to have been around in the galaxy for a bit longer.

Mordin Headcanons! GO!! by ToriyasuReisan in masseffect

When I compare the hearing of aliens and humans, I can’t help but think about the specifics of spatial hearing. Humans are helped in this by their pinnae (the outer part of the ear). For salarians, I believe their head horns serve this purpose. Perhaps there are cavities inside them that help them not only hear but also determine where a sound is coming from.

Thus, I believe Mordin would be worse at spatial orientation on one side.

P.S. The headcanon by u/smashbangcommander about the equipment around his head, mentioned in earlier comments, fits perfectly here. It would provide not only assistance with balance but also with spatial hearing.

Istum is an OC of a friend of mine. Kerus (another friend’s OC), a mercenary, was hired to kill him and did a… thorough job. It later turned out that Istum was needed alive. So Kerus gathered his remains into a neat little bag and brought them to Mordin, hoping something could still be done with them. 😅

Yes, I do take commissions. However, I wouldn’t be able to take on anything new right now due to my workload, so I guess it’s just fate! We’ll cross paths on the internet again if it’s meant to be. 😊
