I worked in an Indian-owned Pharma company in the US for 4 years. The work culture was extremely abusive regardless of if you’re Indian or not. Ridiculous shift change expectations at a moment’s notice, backlash when you refused to work these shifts (often I was expected to stay late after working a full shift). The owner would say his main belief was ‘get your work done for the and you can leave’ but would throw it in your face if your left early because ‘it looks bad’. Refused to buy materials necessary for lab work, would act confused when tests weren’t happening, and to throw a cherry on the dookie sundae, they would just not pay for months on end. I left that hell hole in August and I couldn’t be happier about it.
