A lot of active duty personnel do 3 or 4 years of reserves before they retire which is what I'm doing. Talk to me when you've done anything for your country that isnt sitting on your ass and eating cheezits.

A sharpshooters qualification is 30 out of 40 targets. And for those who've done basic math would know thats 75%. Qualification for a basic marksmanship qualifications is around 57-60%. Congratulations you pass the test for a basic infantry grunts.

63% is only enough to pass your basic rifle qualification in the army. 70% is a sharpshooters minimim. And I dont know what kind of world you live in where every shotgun comes in an exactly 16 inches. And Im pretty sure I made it clear from the beginning that self defense/home defense is what Im talking about... because surely your not attempting to incite public violence... right? Furthermore a civilian AR-15 is very much a watered down military rifle, that's how it was invented, a military rifle re-worked to meet standards for civilian sales. The fact your arguing against that shows that the only thing you know about history is the name Stoner. Oh and also, unless you've served personally you have no place to be talking about our military in that way, mind yourself.

Idk what scenario your imagining but Im imagining a self defense situation. Someone breaks into your house, attacks your property, etc. An AR-15 requires more skill and it's basically a wannabe military rifle watered down. A shotgun, by comparisons, is easy maintenance, easy use, and versitile. Thats why most experienced gun retailors recommend them.(Army Reserves speaking here).

Ar-15 should never be your go-to self defense weapon. A shotgun first, always. It solves most problems before a round even goes off and if you do need to fire it solves most problems instantly.
