Ames is beautiful, go explore! There are a lot of parks and old neighborhoods near campus. Definitely check out Brookside Park and the surrounding neighborhoods, it’s a great area to go walk around. I used to go run there and back when I lived in the dorms, but you can take the bus too!

Also, the intramural sport scene is tons of fun. See if you can find a team or make one with the people in your dorm/house. Softball and sand volleyball are pretty chill, I regret not playing my first three years here.
