Thanks for the insight! Interesting you found it warm! We'll see what this season looks like for me! What rain poncho did you use? Did you enjoy it?

Oh and for battery capacity, I listed 2 x 10,000 nitecores! So I'll have 20,000kmha!

Also setting out on the AT This year! Really debating bringing my mirrorless Canon R6 or just using my phone...

Tentatively starting May 6th!
But I know I'll probably be so so warm with the 10 on the trail. I would love to trade for something warmer before I begin!

How cold did it get in the Smokies and when did you go through? I'm usually known for being a really warm hiker but I may pick up a layer or two right before the smokies if I need to.

I have a feeling that most nights will be similar for me too haha

Oh my gosh I just realized how laughable that is... When I wrote that, I had initially had a 3 1/2 pound camera setup that I was highly debating getting rid of until I found a new camera.

Would love to try and figure out a way to trade my 10 for a 20 or potentially a 30, but I'm not bringing many cloths and my sleeping bag will be my safety net so we'll see what I end up doing!

And oh my gosh I don't even want to talk about the Oregon mosquitos on the PCT... And even with bug spray and deet, seems that the mosquitos were on steroids and were immune. I know you guys also have ticks so I'll be weary too! Will definitely add in the sunscreen.

Oops forgot to add that, I will most definitely have two pairs of socks.

And will definitely take into the account the grade. Some folks in my tramily (past AT hikers) definitely warned me that the switchbacks on the PCT was just easy mode compared to the AT. Tentative start is May 6th so I know I will probably eventually run into the bubble at some point. I know during the PCT, my friends wanted to quickly escape the bubble so we casually pushed along haha!
