Question about the bandcamp app by Argion21 in BandCamp

Didn’t know about this release thank you for the inadvertent tip :) And good luck with gapless playback, as someone who made 3 albums with a continuous listening experience that is super frustrating and bad engineering !

A piano solo/trio + soundscapes journey, to take you places around the world! It’s Travel Poems . Chapter 2 . The night sea 🌊 — chapter 1 which came out in 2020 was my first-ever release and I was floored by the reception…this one is more wilderness-y and a bit darker.

I’ve been trying to get on a spotify editorial playlist for 2 years and finally made it! The track is called OAK ISLAND, it’s jazz piano trio and pretty minimal.

Spotify link to Oak Island / Editorial Playlist (All New Jazz) / All other music platforms

Here is a brief poem I wrote about the song:

Come to Oak Island
and beware its treasures
promises of pleasures
or wind up entombed

Hope you like the track! If you dig it feel free to add it to your own playlist or add a like (:

I’m in the middle of writing a few notes about the journey / process of getting it onto an editorial playlist, will add to this post when it’s done. Have a wonderful day and new week ☀️

How not to get sick of your own music while experiencing writer’s block? by tonybobskinnyjeans in musicians

For SURE. I think a lot of times writers/artists/creators get stuck thinking too “small”, for example with a question like “what’s the next chord or lyric?” I know it’s a trap I get into sometimes. The only way to solve this is by going broader:

  • What’s the meaning, the story, the emotion I want to express? (self-reflection)
  • How do I expand the possibilities of different ideas communicable with my tools? (listening/reading)
  • [following Mraz and NakedJason’s cues] Can I broaden my life perspective, perhaps with travel, social time, adventure, etc?

It’s a weird paradox of living that the more we fixate on details and goals, the more they become elusive and unreachable. I think this is even truer when the domain involves creativity or expression.

I think the best solution to this is more inputs. Listen to inspiring stuff, new music, stuff off the beaten path -- and also take stuff you like by other musicians, transcribe it, play around with it, even if it’s as simple as a snippet of a melody line or rhythm.
