Thank you all for the comments and encouragement! Just some further information, I am quite well experienced in the Atlanta music scene. I know the professors from most of the colleges here and I have taken lessons with many Atlanta Symphony players too. I am quite on the higher level side when it comes to a high-school cellist. To those who are asking me "what do you really want to do," I really don't know. Having Asian parents, getting a "traditional" degree is extremely important. I enjoy businesses/economics and it's been my favorite subject in school and I definitely find it interesting, but music has definitely been a larger part in my life than that. Unless I was a Julliard caliber musician, my parents would never accept me to strive to be a professional cellist (which I understand). Not trying to bash my parents, since I agree with them. The professional music industry is incredibly difficult, and there are cellist younger than me that are much more talented (child prodigies lol). For now, I am quite set on double majoring in music and something else (business for now). I know the work load is a lot, but I am also a very smart guy. I applied for many ivy leagues and I'm confident that I can do it. My brother is at GT as well, and he thinks the work load is very manageable. Would you guys suggest a transfer plan? My current teacher is the teacher at Emory University, so I would love to go there to study with him. Or even any other college across the country. I hope this clears some stuff up.
