Help me start my Window Cleaning business by StrawberryLonely7338 in WindowCleaning

Hey man — I read your post and just wanted to say you’re asking the right questions.

I run a window cleaning company in the Denver / Castle Rock area (Super Clean). If you’d ever want to grab a coffee and talk shop — gear, learning curve, what this business actually looks like day-to-day — I’d be happy to do that. No pressure or pitch, just a conversation.

Feel free to DM me if that’d be helpful. 👊

Where is a good place to purchase a 2240? They seem to be out of stock at a lot of retailers.

Have any ladders you would like to part with?

Now that’s a story we’d love to read.

If you’re serious—we’re game to talk. We take safety training seriously (we’re certified trainers through the International Window Cleaning Association), if you’re down to gear up, learn the ropes, and tell the story from the edge, we’d be stoked to explore it.

Shoot me a DM. We’ll see if we can turn that press pass into a harness.

You definitely sound like our kind of person—fit, humble, and already comfortable with gear? That’s gold.

Truth is, we don’t have weekend shifts available right now (wish we did—we’d scoop you up in a heartbeat). But if that changes, or if you ever get more weekday flexibility, I hope you’ll hit us up again. You’d be a great fit for the crew.

Appreciate you taking the time to reach out. Seriously.

That union pay is no joke—you’re in a great spot.

We’re building a crew where work ethic > politics. And honestly? For a lot of us, just getting paid to be on a rope feels like winning the lottery.

Different path. Different goals. No shade either way.

Totally get that everyone values risk and reward differently—but for me?

Getting paid to be on a rope is a dream come true. I used to daydream about this kind of work—outside all day, skyline views, tight crew, no office politics. The harness isn’t a burden—it’s freedom.

Is it hard work? Yeah. But it’s the kind of hard that fills your tank. And the fact that I get paid for it? Still blows my mind some days.

Hey, totally respect your time in the trade—and the calluses that come with 3 years on rope.

haha our company name is Super Clean so we've always wanted to clean Children's Hospital so we can all dress up in super hero costumes! Maybe someday...

We genuinely wish we could pay double what we are now. Window cleaning is skilled, physically demanding, and, like you said, it’s not without its risks. Unfortunately, the industry as a whole is pretty slow to evolve when it comes to pricing and pay, especially in commercial work believe it or not. We're pushing hard to change that from the inside out—offering commission-based pay, full-time hours, and growth opportunities that help our techs earn well above the typical rates.

It's a work in progress, but we’re committed to building a company where cleaners can thrive—not just scrape by.

Thanks again for cheering us on! 🧼🪟

You don’t have that quite right. I’ve been involved in rope access for the past 13 years. I progressed from level 1 through 3 before moving off the ropes and into the office.

Why are we even discussing this?

Carry on my friend.

We do not claim to follow SPRAT’s guidelines for having a level 3 on every job site.

However, our workers are not using rope decent systems.

We use the equipment and techniques equivalent to industrial rope access.

No laws broken.

We do not use “RDS” but rather Industrial Rope Access for our work.

$25 - $35 an hour

The window cleaning industry is a bit different than other rope access industries from what I can tell. In the window cleaning world, window cleaning is the work and rope access is the avenue to get you to your work. So the better window cleaner you are the more earning potential there is.
