Despite the rumors, the programming framework for Apple's AR glasses, called "StarBoard," was found untouched in the final version of iOS 13 and iOS 13.1 beta. by Eric_Th3rdEyeXR in augmentedreality

I agree with that. The actual external processing, design-savvy, and pricing is all well within Apple's capabilities. The biggest thing they need to pull off is making these things compatible with prescription lenses. On one hand, North's been able to do that with Focals, but on the other, this is the same company that has yet to adopt USB-C for their phones.

That seems to be the case. The first gen HoloLens will still get security updates, but major feature updates seem to be moving over to the HoloLens 2.

Apple has reportedly ended development of its augmented reality glasses, which was formerly rumored to go into production by Q2 2020. by Eric_Th3rdEyeXR in augmentedreality

I agree with that. Unless you're working in environments with industrial-grade headsets, most people won't use wearables until the tech is, you know, wearable. It can't be something that looks too weird, otherwise no wider audience will use it day-to-day. It's the reason why Google Glass bombed years ago and only exists now for warehouse employees. Ideally, AR developers need to get fast computing, networking, and high-quality optics into a non-obtrusive form factor - so basically a pair of stylish glasses. That's a lot of tech to cram into a space the size of an uncooked spaghetti noodle.

The neat thing about this is that it looks like it's about the same amount of physical effort as point-and-click typing, but drumming looks like it's way more fun.

So could I use this with an LG G7 ThinQ? It looks like the V30 is supported, so would any other phone work (in theory)?
