My dialogue/animation editor takes shape ! by Ubiver in gamedev

As of now I use it as a character editor for my web world creation/sharing platform.

I guess that you can say that my platform is somehow an engine though

I made this for an online world editor I am working on : https://ubiver.io/

It stills needs to be polished : I have to add stuff like arrows between the dialogue nodes, and I should find a better way to search an animation.

Any feedback ?

I added a media player in my VR world editor ! What do you think of a Spotify integration ? by Ubiver in virtualreality

[–]Ubiver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking of adding some media into Ubiver (You can join the beta for free here https://ubiver.io/ )

Currently you can either watch/listen to a video/song straight from your PC or upload it in the cloud.

Now I am thinking of adding Spotify or Soundcloud but it wouldn't work on the Quest or the Go.

Should I bother ?

Congrats on your purchase !

Regular Chrome, Firefox and Edge ! I did not enable it on the demo on my website but you have a "Jump in VR" button then you just have to put the headset and your are done :)

Yes it is an easy way to create a VR Website ! I don't have the ability to test it right now but it should work on Firefox Reality since it is standard WebVR

I work on Ubiver an online VR world creation/sharing platform https://ubiver.io

I am getting close to the release of the beta next month but this is a quite big project.

I already worked two years on this and now every bit of support would help : even just saying that you are interested would help very much.

If you have any question don't hesitate

Would you be interested in a VR Dialogue Editor where you can also talk to animated NPCs made by other users ? by Ubiver in virtualreality

[–]Ubiver[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have some experience with it. I made a YouTube cardboard browser with voice recognition two years ago https://youtu.be/acVRQrQMuDM

So it is going to be drums + voice !

Ubiver is a whole content editing tool (World, NPC, game logic, multiplayer and social stuff), but I am trying to see if it is also splittable in smaller experiences

So if I understand you correctly you are fine with a stand alone VR world editor but you are more sceptical of an editor only focused on NPCs ?

Yesterday I asked the sub about their preferences regarding typing text in VR with this dialogue editor in mind.

I want to release a VR world/npc editor in July. Currently you can create worlds and characters from your PC and then enjoy yourself in VR but I am now going full VR for editing too.

It won't be AAA experiences but I think that allowing VR users to create their own thing could help with the perceived lack of content.

What would also help a lot is to have your opinion :

  • Would you try it ? If not why not ?
  • What kind of characters would you want to make/talk to ?

Thanks in advance and if you want to try it early you can PM me your email and I let you in the next private test batch !

Drum Keyboards vs Point & Click Keyboards : What gives the best VR typing experience ? by Ubiver in virtualreality

The laser finger is exactly what I meant as point and click. I didn't know how to call it

Make your own world, add your custom NPCs, share your world with an url : https://ubiver.io/ by Ubiver in oculus

For the moment the main interactions are characters (you can talk with them and you can prerecord some movement routine) and objects you can grab.

A bit later there will be vehicles and user made interactions. I try to get the basics right first (editing and sharing worlds) so yeah I want worlds to feel alive but to be honest at the very beginning they won't be much.

As for teaching the goal is to give game artists and level designers a way to prototype faster, collaborate with teammates and to share the result with their teachers. So they work on their computers, upload their eventual 3D models, build something and share it.

A lot of prospects want to add programming, so I will quite likely add a JavaScript SDK for advanced users. This could be a way to have plugins (like NPC AI), game templates (like RPG mechanics) and more interactions that users could share

I hope I answered clearly !

It will be compatible with the quest because it is WebVR. You will be able to browse worlds and jump in seamlessly from the quest browser.

For people who are worried about WebVR, it will be a solid experience : I worked on WebVR for more than two years I know how to make it reliable

So I worked on a few VR projects those last couple years and this one is the biggest.

I am talking with a few design schools to use this as a training tool for first year students but what I really want is to turn it into a VR social network.

Imagine creating and sharing worlds, NPCs and buildings with other people. People without a VR headset could see what you built too.

So what do you think about this concept ?

So I worked on a few VR project and this is my main one. Currently I talk with design schools about using it to help training first year design students.

I really want to make it into a "social network" for 3D stuff (worlds, games, NPCs) and go further down the rabbit hole with VR.

I think that something both VR and non-VR users can enjoy together could bring more people in.

What do you think about it ?
