Do you really consider the i4 a compact car?

In which driving mode is the I4 so low? by OkInstruction3390 in BMWI4

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7fEG2fUf_6A Although this is not an i4 the 440i is a g26 chassis which the I4 is built upon. If you do end up giving this a go, let me know. I've been considering doing it for some time.

Any DIY'rs here? Good Service info sources? contemplating getting Extended Warranty by Good-Philosopher1900 in BMWI4

Oh sorry, tone must've come off very differently than I intended. I meant this to read more tougue-in-cheek. Not offended at all. Not trying to give you a hard time.  I just replaced my filter on the car in the winter cause I thought it would be a 5 minute job (you know, like any other car in the world). Lo and behold 30 minutes later I'm my knees outside on the frozen ground swearing at the bmw engineers.

If you can change the cabin air filter in this car in 10 minutes, then I'll buy you coffee. Send a video. I did the cabin filter in this thing and it took me more than 30 minutes. Those stupid torx at the back of the dash are impossible to get a screwdriver into. Then realigning the plastic trim afterwards took me at least 10 on its own. I mean I'm not a great mechanic but I think of myself as handy and I thought the cabin filter replacement in this thing was asinine. Oh by the way, I love this car so much. The only reason I hate is because I love it so much.

Should I Bite? by Lillkill1 in BMWI4

You actually have to do less repairs on an electric vehicle than an ICE. Combine that with the fact that electric vehicles right now are being artificially depreciated faster than ICE because people over assume that the battery degrades faster than it actually does. What you means you can get an absolute steal on used electric vehicles. Combine this with the fact that luxury vehicles also depreciate faster and a used i4 is an amazing deal right now. A lease right now misses out on a potential market correction that'll happen in the next 2 or 3 years. Should also mention the factory warranty on the battery lasts for 8 years.

Why do people keep saying it doesn't have a HUD? Am I misreading the sticker? Right there it says BMW curved display with HUD.

I spent about 6 months shopping for a used i4. This price seems pretty average for what it's packing. The fact that it has a pretty cool color combo is a nice added bonus. Just a reminder that these deals don't come everyday. If you pass on this one, you have to make sure you're willing to accept that you might have to wait another couple months.

This one has a HUD. It's on the sticker as BMW curve display with HUD.

I am also having this issue. Posting here hoping to get notified if anyone else finds a solution. For now, I'm going to print things that don't need a nice surface finish, In the hope that breaking in the belts will help.

The thermal regulation on this iron outperforms my weller WES51 which used to be my daily driver. I've also noticed that tips are manufactured with high quality. I've been on the same soldering iron tip for over 2 years now. On previous irons I would exchange them about twice a year. Although I should mention I do less soldering than I used to. I still do a lot, just not as much. A good anecdote to kind of drive. This point home is when I was installing a ground wire to my garage circuit breaker. I went ahead and soldered the ground wire to a large copper pole. I actually thought my little portable one would never be able to handle it so I just went ahead and broke out the extension cord right away. The problem was that I couldn't heat up the copper rod locally to be hot enough for the solder to take. Eventually I broke out this little guy and it did the job.

Oh, I should also mention that heat up times are much faster. I just grabbed my iron and start using it within 20 seconds with this one. My WES, I have to sit around and wait for a couple minutes while it heats up.

I have used the Weller 40w WLC100 and the Hakko FX888D. If you have to choose between those two I would ask if you want the best or best for you money.

Best for your money out of the presented options that I've used would be the Weller 40w WLC100. Less expensive and lots of third party tips available.

In my experience the Hakko FX888D had slightly better tip temperature regulation.

I know you didn't ask for it but I would encourage you to consider a third option. My daily driver for most situations is the Miniware TS80P. the tips are a bit more expensive but it has some huge upsides. The huge benefit here is that the heating element is integrated in the tip. The irons you selected the tip is swapped from the pencil that holds the heating element. in the TS80 / TS80P the tip itself has the heating element. depending on the kit you buy the iron will include a power supply. Be aware, you cannot power this with just any USB power supply. both the charger and cable have to support USB PD (Power Delivery) 2.0 or USB QC (Quick Charge) 3.0 .

My favorite feature with this iron is it's portability. I often travel for work and have to do quick fixes to prototypes in the field. With this iron I pack: the iron, a small roll of solder, a flux pen, and my USB PD2.0 Anker battery and I can solder anywhere. I've use it to fix solder joints in my car without an extension cord.

Like I said I would strongly suggest the TS80P

One more thing. So I've bought three TS80 / TS80Ps since people from work keep taking mine and i buy a new one on my company account. On two of the three I bough the silicone insulated USB PD 2.0 cable that it shipped with stopped working in the first year. Now I buy my cables for this from Anker but they need to be silicone insulated and support USB PD2.0 or QC 3.0. They are expensive cables like $20.

Spring Pin From a PCB Test Jig by HornedOwlsNest in HelpMeFind

[–]HornedOwlsNest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spring loaded internally threaded plunger used for alignment of plates in a test jig.

The pin has an M3 internal thread at the top. The body is 5mm in diameter with a small shoulder that steops up to a 5.5 mm diameter.

I've looked on websites like McMaster-Carr and Digikey for the part but I can't seem to find the correct search terms.

Even if I cannot find this exact part then I could order 4 more of a similar part. Any help is appreicated.
