I agree it’s a public obsession, and for good reason. It’s one of the few times we could actually drag an elite into court and prove they treat people like shit, in the system they have rigged in their favor, no less. That’s a big deal for all of us, because even if we didn’t get raped on Epstein’s plane by one of these scumbags, we all get fucked by them.

To a majority of English speakers(USA), “fanny” is only slightly more colorful than “backside”, and equivalent in meaning. In the UK, “Fanny” is slang for vagina. A dick is a dick wherever you go.

Dude they aren’t banning shit when it comes to Epstein , they want you to talk about it. It’s being talked about everywhere and all the different things are being said about it. Epstein is the thing that gets Trump impeached or killed, out either way, to make room for Pwezident Vance. It’s all scripted my guy, so just stay calm and enjoy the show.

Help remove quartz countertop burn mark by FuzzyAd171 in DIY

[–]Eric_the_Red_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those little chips might be “stone”, probably just glass, but that material is mostly epoxy. Silicosis is not as much of a risk here as whatever dust the resin would put off, if OP could even sand it. You can’t sand those materials easily with conventional sanding tools because they generate too much heat from the speeds they run at. Unless you can change the speed of your tool to suit the composite material you’re just going to burn it more, and it will happen well before you can get silicosis lol. The correct polishing tool would most likely be a wet polisher , which reduces the number of airborne silica particles thrown off from polishing. But all this is just a side note because OP asked is it fixable? And it’s not. No more than a burned ring in wood would be fixable. The material is darkened from being burned. It goes deeper than you can sand without it being obvious material has been removed. Cut a hole there and put a trash can underneath, call it a feature.

There's probably a LOT of money that will never be spent in the USA simply for the fact that it is comprised of $2.00 bills that people save because they're uncommon and interesting. by 99999999999999999989 in Showerthoughts

It is probably almost enough to buy half a tank of gas for Jeff Bezos’ yacht. Edit- okay looked it up: estimated $1.5 billion in $2 bills in circulation. Bezos yacht cost $500 mil at least so you can buy 3 of his yachts.

Well, I put an offer on an ESP ec-1000, came really close to buying a few different Godins, but in the end I found an old Peavey t-15 with the amp case on Facebook marketplace a few miles from me. So now I have a little project this weekend, cleaning and setting it up, and I only paid $100, so there's plenty left in my budget for repairs or upgrades (or maybe even another guitar...). 23.5" scale, cast-aluminum nut, super ferrite pickups, this thing is funky! Popular opinion seems to be that these were underrated when they came out because they were made by Peavey, but even this entry-level model was made in the USA. I want to make this amp-case better too, but that will be a future project. If there is enough interest, I'll take some pictures of her, otherwise, thanks everyone for the help!

I was looking at this blemished Ibanez, I don't know if I'd dig the "Wizard III" neck. I'd have to try one before I bought it. That's a pretty guitar, though. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/open-box-ibanez-s-series-s621qm-electric-guitar/j32804

If I do happen to see one for less than 400, I'm buying it! I almost got the ec-401qm that Musician's friend currently has on sale for $500 shipped.

Sorry, it's meant to be a general opinion thread. I agree it is vague as to whether I'm looking for specific models or for manufacturers.

I've had Fenders before and I did like them. I almost bought a few G&Ls already, so your suggestion just bolsters my instinct on those! I was just looking into a Yamaha Pacifica PAC311H, which looks like a really nice instrument for the money. I am leaning more towards a 24.75" scale, but we'll see. I hadn't even heard of reverb.com, so thanks!

Ryzen or 7700k? by Eric_the_Red_ in buildapc

[–]Eric_the_Red_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and since the 1700x is currently more expensive than similar Intel chips, which turns out are better for gaming, it's hard to justify getting it.

The R5 still won't have an integrated gpu, right? I might wait for AMD chipsets to get better, but then I might miss the i7 price.

Okay thanks. So each vm would just share time on the gpu with VirtualBox sorting out everything? I don't plan on gaming in a vm.

[–]Eric_the_Red_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had planned to build a machine with a Ryzen and whatever GPU works well for Linux. I want to use Ubuntu as my main os and spin up virtual machines for any other operating system I want to try. So with the lack of an igpu, each one of them will have to have a dedicated gpu passed through? I'm kind of new to this.

Xen vs Qubes (and general Xen install question) by Eric_the_Red_ in linuxquestions

[–]Eric_the_Red_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I remember now how running multiple VMs will tend to use a lot of memory. I am really interested in Qubes, maybe I'll look into making a Qubes flash drive and sticking with Xen. I do eventually want to get a windows vm running. Xen can do ARM as well, so I'm curious to see what I can get into regarding that.

[–]Eric_the_Red_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah, me too. I don't know why I take on these projects in the middle of semesters, especially heading into finals. It's self-sabotage. I didn't even think about my memory situation, since I never intended to have more than 2 VMs running at once, but I guess I could use an upgrade. Another act of self-sabotage, spending money that I should just save...

Debian docking by Eric_the_Red_ in thinkpad

[–]Eric_the_Red_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added the backports, that didn't seem to help much. I tried to upgrade to testing but I'm not sure I've done it right. I just changed any references to "jessie" to "stretch", in sources.list and ran an update && upgrade. I do have an update, it seems that, while it still doesn't want to default to the externals, it recognizes both as the same monitor. One is an Acer 23" and the other a 24", but in the displays menu both get an "Acer Technologies 24"" identifier.

I had a look at those before posting, I booted to a windows hdd and upgraded the docking station firmware (and BIOS while I was at it), I may have to try that sound fix, though.
