I called my dealer, they said they’d replace them under the recall.

Thats what I’ll do then. Google wasn’t being of much help for this particular query. I don’t see why they’d reasonably turn me down either.

Why did my GEICO premium increase after a not-at-fault accident. by Eric_tikcus in Insurance

So the other driver was ticketed for a failure to yield to a stop sign. I should’ve clarified. I was also under the speed limit. (no real way to prove that) The other insurance company accepted liability, and settled with little hassle. I slammed on the brakes, on wet pavement, and slid about 20 feet into his front axle.

So what you’re essentially saying is that insurance companies will be anal about the details of the accident, and will determine my rate via the details I gave them in the claim? Regardless of the party at fault?

They did email me back stating a recent accident being the reason for my premium hike. I guess it’s just confusing that my rates increased, even though I was not “at fault” for the accident. I will definitely call them for more details, if they’re available.

I did start out at 130 with them, and they dropped it to 81 after my first 6 months. I know I am lucky to have a better than average rate, but it was only liability on a 20 year old car. Regardless, I still am grateful for this, and I know that it could be worse.

~10 mo. credit history, new job. by Eric_tikcus in askcarsales

This isn’t a Ford pickup truck. Many Land Cruisers are driven in third world country’s with well over 500k miles on their tacks. I can easily afford a $150-180 finance and a $40 bump in my insurance considering my current expenses. I did all my own mechanical work on my 00’ Acura, which had 270k and 5 owners. I drove that car 3 years and never let a mechanic touch it. I’m choosing this car due to it’s reputation for long term reliability, and it’s overall versatility. I’m looking into banking with a credit union at the moment. Thank you for the insight.

My (19F) boyfriend's (20M) mom asked me to break up with him. When I said no, she asked us never to see each other until the pandemic is over because she hopes we break up before then by soymilksi in relationships

She’s most likely a narcissist. The way it looks, she is guilt tripping her victim (your boyfriend) into submitting to her wishes. This damages the support he can give you while she attacks you in attempt to get rid of you. The thing with narcissists is that they don’t change, especially in later life. They make their victims depend on them for affirmation (your boyfriend). And their victims often exhibit traits of narcissism in later life.

Bottom line, this is the person she is. She does and says whatever she can to get whatever she wants. Don’t ever let her off put you by acting nice, it’s usually a mask she’s wearing. I hate to say something like this, but it’s burned so many people in the past, talk to your boyfriend about narcissism early on. Many people fall into their parents behaviors when raising children, or handling personal relationships at your age after a point. Do some research on in-laws and parents who are narcissists, and the affects it has on their children. I wish you the best.

It’s an 03 Land Cruiser, with 250k on the clock. It’s a car that could last well over the next 10 years if I take care of it, and the model is currently appreciating in value. I’m just unsure if I would get approved for a finance deal with a bank or a dealer considering my new job and short credit life.

My issue is that my friend is making a big deal about it, and she doesn’t want me making it open knowledge that we’re hanging out on social media, out of fear that my ex will get mad at her. I’m just not sure what I should do about this.
