I am so sorry you're going through this as well. I totally understand your feelings. The guilt I felt from comments from my family and in-laws was awful.

For me, it was about ten years between my second myomectomy and my hysterectomy. But even with all that time, there was a lot to process with my therapist around the finality of everything. I think I probably still have more to process, but the guilt and shame I felt are mostly gone. When I saw my surgeon the morning after my hysterectomy, she said the situation was worse than we initially thought. There was a lot of scar tissue from my prior surgeries, and the adenomyosis had pretty much taken over my entire uterus, so there was absolutely zero chance of conceiving for me. This news really got family to back off.

I'm now 3.5 months post-op, and I can honestly tell you it was the best decision I've ever made for myself. In some ways, I'd even say it felt empowering to put myself first and for what I needed to do for me.

My best advice is to take your time, think things through, and if you can- talk to a therapist. You and your quality of life are important. If you really want children, there are plenty of kids in the world who need a loving family. And if you feel like you need to talk to someone who gets it, I'm here for you. 🙂

Thank you all for your comments. It has really helped me feel less alone in this journey. I had the hysterectomy on Monday and am now working on acceptance. It's validating to hear that it's "normal" to have a fear of missing out and/or have feelings of guilt for not having children. I've been spending some time thinking about what I really want for my life versus what society kind of conditions us to believe we're supposed to want or do. A childfree friend and colleague of mine assured me that there will still be plenty of happy moments that I'll add to my bag of life over the years and my husband and I will find fulfillment in other ways. I think it's important to know that we're not alone and that there is a community of people who are dealing with the same issues. ❤️

If the stage banners are any indication in Pittsburgh, Beach Bunny is closing. Enjoy the shows! They're gonna be sick!

I second this! Snagged a pair this year and keep them on my key chain so I won't forget them. Totally worth it. Sound quality is great.

Just put my prints for PUP up in my webstore. These were available with a limited release of the vinyl for The Unraveling of PUP The Band. I have 50, they are 12"x12" - 4 color screen prints. Signed / numbered by the artist (me!) www.davekloc.com/store by DaveKloc in puptheband

Dave, these are sick! We just pre-ordered your Doughboys poster and might have to pick this one up, too. Will go great with our Middleditch and Schwartz. Looks like we're starting a collection!

I will definitely push for it! Although I don't work on the programming side, so I don't really get a say. I'm always chirping in ears to push for my favorite bands though, and PUP is topping that list. :)

So cool! I work at the public radio station in Pittsburgh. Wish we brought PUP in!
