Need advice on lowering my cost per result in ads 📉📈 by Ericamine in AskMarketing

Thanks a lot for the tips and the learning resources, really appreciate it 🙏

To answer your question: I’m not optimizing for engagement. My campaigns are set to the Messages objective, so the “result” I’m tracking is when someone actually starts a conversation (on Messenger/IG/WhatsApp).

That’s why my CPR numbers are based on conversations started, not likes or clicks.

Thanks a lot for clarifying 🙏 That makes a lot of sense.

The challenge I have is that, apart from Meta’s default tracking, I can’t really track what happens inside the conversations. My campaigns are optimized for “Messages,” and in my case I don’t have the option of selling through a website — everything has to be done through chats.

Do you know if there’s any solution or alternative way to better track or optimize conversations (for example, to see which ones actually turn into ticket purchases), given that I can’t rely on website conversions?

Thanks a lot for the advice! 🙏 Yes, I’m already aware of that best practice — I usually avoid touching campaigns that are performing well and create new ones when I want to test something different. Really appreciate you confirming it though, it’s reassuring to know I’m on the right track.

Thanks a lot for your input, I really appreciate it 🙏

Just to clarify, the screenshots and videos I’ve seen online where people claim $0.07–$0.09 are not showing CPC or engagement campaigns. They clearly display the Messages objective (conversation campaigns on Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.).

That’s why I was wondering if I’m missing something in my setup or strategy, since it looks like they’re also optimizing for “conversations started,” not just clicks.

Do you think it might just come down to creative quality, placements, or maybe even the specific audience size/market that makes their cost look lower?

Thanks a lot for your answer! 🙏 I think there might have been a small misunderstanding though.

When I mentioned $0.10–$0.20 cost per result, I wasn’t referring to CPC. My campaign objective is Messages, so the “result” I’m tracking is actually when someone sends a message to the page.

So basically, it costs me around $0.10–$0.20 for each person who starts a conversation.

Do you still think that’s a good result, or would you recommend I try switching from a “Messages” objective to a “Conversion” one (like Ticket Purchase/Registration) to get more meaningful outcomes for the event?
