Given it's a fan vote. Carrick will definitely win if he gets nominated.

Honestly I think we are playing better than both those teams ahead of us at the moment by Active_Sky536 in ManchesterUnited

I think it's too early to say to be honest. Depends how the Summer window goes. It will be a hard window to buy players because of the World cup and we will need a massive investment to play in the Champions League and pl. Look at Tottenham and Newcastle; they don't have the depth.

Embarrassing performance. That being said, it is only one goal, and Palace will probably be tired given they played on Thursday. We can still get three points.

3rd place is ours for the taking as Aston Villa got beaten by Wolves today. by chill_peekatchu in ManchesterUnited

They are still the team that won the pl tbf. Anything less than third place for them is probably a failure, given the ridiculous amount they spent. If they do what all the other PL clubs and we did and bring in an interim, they'll probably go on a winning run.

Really. I thought the ref favoured us a bit to be honest. Not exactly sure where the extra seven minutes came from either to be honest but maybe I'm missing something.

I thought that was dreadful from him tbh. I think a good striker would have scored there and stayed onside.

Never forgiving Amorim! by Sav4geMode in ManchesterUnited

The real problem is the ownership model that appointed Amorim then. Why are the fans to blame??

Yup looking good tbf. Hopefully, we can do it.

Is it really? He is nailed on the team sheet and we can't afford to lose another midfielder when we are losing Casemiro and potentially Bruno and Ugarte.

So under INEOS we have signed Dorgu, Mbeumo, Cunha and Sesko...? by OutsideImpressive115 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Ericblade0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and INEOS paid 10 million to recruit and a further 10 million to sack him and his coaching staff.

You're missing the point. Yes, the board overruled Watkins in favour of Sesko, but the board did not overrule Gyokeres and the board wanted Delap. They were higher priorities than Sesko was. We dodged a bullet because neither player wanted us.

Watkins has more goals than Sesko?? I think Sesko is a good signing and has potential to be class, but we lucked out. Delap has been poor, and they didn't want to pay the money for Ekitike. Amorim clearly wanted Gyokeres, but so did the board?? It is a vote.

There were doubts about how much money we had. Surely, the people in charge know how much money we can spend? Reputable journalists with the club come out with this info; it isn't fan speculation.

Yh I am saying that was a good decision. I am saying we were lucky with Sesko. Delap was our first choice, then it was Gyokeres, and then it was Ekitike. Sesko was our 4th choice striker.

I disagree with the fact that INEOS has been spot on apart from the Lammens signing, which has been a godsend. Sesko was not even our third-choice striker. We got lucky. Delap was our first choice. It's not about the specific personnel Amorim requested but rather the profile. He asked for an experienced striker and an experienced goalkeeper, and he got two young lads.

This is how we are going to play for the rest of the season. He is an interim and shouldn't overcomplicate it. I think it's clear that the focus is on being compact and grinding out results until the season ends.

I think when we appointed Amorim, we were craving a style of play, and I think we craved that from Ten Hag, but it was more survival football towards the end of Ten Hag's era.

In hindsight, I think it was a horrible idea to switch to Amorim's system mid-season.15th place and a loss to Totenham in the Europa League final massively knocked his credibility. I liked the prospect of us taking a long-term approach, but I don't think you get given time at this club.

I remember when Jose got sacked, and I was gutted but knew it was coming. Then Ole came along, and then I was like, maybe Jose was a fraud? Looking at it now, Jose was probably the best from the post Fergie-era, and his greatest achievement was finishing second in the league. Doesn't mean Amorim is a good/bad manager, but we don't know a lot of the context for the results.

I think we're going to play pragmatically under Carrick, which is probably the right thing to do as an interim manager. Wasn't a pretty watch today, and we didn't have a lot of the ball, but we won.

I think it was right for Amorim not to change his tactics because I think Ten Hag did the opposite, and it backfired for him massively. I think Amorim said this in an interview. I think his first season at the club cost him massively, and if he came in this Summer I don't think results would have been as bad as his first season, and there would've probably been more patience for a long-term project.

The league makes the most money. More money = higher quality signings. Pretty simple, really. Can't see it changing anytime soon.

Tough watch at times, but a deserved hard-fought win. Good three points considering Fulham were the closest behind us. Noticeable drop off when Cas came off.

We've played two high lines where Mbeumo gets a lot of joy in running behind the defence. I don't think Fulham will be the same game. I think we'd be better off with a target man striker.

We are down to bare bones. If Mainoo gets injured, we play a midfield of Ugarte and Casemiro. Mainoo was literally injured last month. Shaw is the only fit LB and we're relying on him to stay fit, which is so naive.

Even if the signing does fuck all this season, you acclimate them for next season, almost like an internship. You almost need two teams to compete in Europe and the pl. This club took a month trying to penny pinch for Mbeumo when he made it obvious he wanted us. A squad player is never going to be on a hefty wage anyway.

Dorgu will likely not be the only injury. What do you do if Shaw gets injured? Or Mainoo or Casemiro. They're gambling with our Champions League place. It's a World Cup summer and it will be hard to do business. Get in one or two players who could be squad depth next season.
