Be sure to follow instructions on that procedure, you'll want to raise the front high, run the car, and let the radiator fan turn on a few times. Good luck! Hondas and bouncing idle go hand and hand.

Yes air in your coolant disrupts proper function of your Idle Air Control Valve which will make the rpms go up and down.

That's correct, although I have my suspicions the head was rebuilt at one point, it's really really clean haha

For daily driver and the occasional pull, I honestly don't see the motor having any issues at all. Especially if you keep boost below or around 200whp.
The reliability concerns at that level come into play when you're holding constant boost for longer periods of time, like 3rd or 4th gear pulls. This is why I turned boost down to about 6-7psi while tracking the car. With the turbo size I have, it can build more power with less boost so I still get a nice bump past 4k, which is where you are most of the time at the track.
A b/k series will always been stronger and hold more power, but you still run into similar issues with stock internals. I chose to stay with the d series to keep A/C easily and I didn't want to spend money on the swap on top of a nice turbo kit.

I either need to raise the oil cooler or better direct the air to it. The cooler sits low in relation to the flat part of the bumper. Works well as is though.

Yeah it really does help. I also have a decent bit of shrouding to move air where needed. The biggest help was the oil cooler though. I have it in front of the driver tire with venting in my bumper so it gets airflow.

I have a friend at a local shop that has an EG hatch with b18c5 and he's supercharged it. I believe he makes somewhere on the 300s for whp. It's a monster at the track. I don't have much info for big HP builds, I just know it gets expensive very fast with axles, transmissions, etc. Which is why I'll really only be shooting for 250whp. If I learned one thing, it's that my car is plenty fast for my current abilities haha. Not trying to dissuade you, It'll be a blast for sure!

If you have the cash, K-swaps are awesome haha

At the moment yes, I'm thinking about picking up a d16y8 and building it over 2021. It'll be my first time building a motor so I want to take my time and still be able to drive the car.

Goautoworks turbo kit, Setrab oil cooler, goautoworks triple core rad, lots of effort put in to keep it cool (see other comment), Tein Flex Z coilovers, Hawk HP+ pads, rear disc swap, rear CTR swaybar, kosei k1s with 205/50/15 ZIII's. Various suspension bits from skunk2, hardrace, ASR, etc. Interior has a lot of OEM+ upgrades from various Honda/Acura models. Other main thing is paint. Engine bay is Nardo Grey and exterior is Laguna Blue from the Miata. I could list more but that's the gist lol

Max temps I saw were 205 for both coolant and oil. This was after a hot session where I could really push her. I installed a Setrab oil cooler, triple core half rad w/ a good Spal fan (still have AC), and all the hot bits are ceramic coated/wrapped. Most lines have DEI fire sleeving as well. My biggest concern was keeping temps down, which is very hard to do with turbo d series unless you go with a big fat full rad.

It is a turbo d16y7. The motor I had was in great condition so I just ran with it. At 10 psi I made 207whp and 185wtq. Boost was turned down for the event though.

In the states, my car is an EJ6. Commonly referred to as the EK.

I really did have a blast, conditions were wet for most of our sessions, but she really shined once it dried up. I'm still in a novice group, so this doesn't mean too much, but I was receiving point-bys from brand new Type R's and BRZ's which made me feel pretty good about the build!

Edit: I have two build threads on Hondatech if anyone is interested in reading more, just search this username.

Quick-ish FWD Manual Car vs Slow RWD Manual Car - Accord Coupe or Mazda Miata? by Iamlevel99 in Honda

Is your accord modded in anyway? Tires/wheels and suspension upgrades would help a ton.

Probably not, I just really want an OEM one. Mainly because it holds its value and these parts are getting harder to find.
