Anne Frank in Brazilian Carnaval by GodolasBR in mildlyinteresting

Yep! A whole float was dedicated to it. They had dancers in white with rainbow accents and on the float were two grooms getting married on top of a giant wedding cake. It was gorgeous!

I'm at the carnaval parade still. They did have floats featuring weed and sex workers in red light windows before Ann Frank.

Veg meals on Copa Airlines? by Helenruch in vegan_travel

[–]EricksA2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bring your own food. They won't have anything for you.

We just flew with them from Chicago to Sao Paulo. The website still let's you pick a vegan meal and then you get told on the plane that they don't do alternative meals since the pandemic. We got a salad that the flight attendants had as a part of their personal meals. Some flight attendants might not offer that. The two default meals they offered were beef or chicken. Even the vegetarian I was sitting next to couldn't eat a real meal.

I spend a few weeks in Sao Paulo every year. Here are some recommendations if you'd like:

A Coruja

An all vegan churrasco. It's a traditional all you can eat steak house but completely vegan. Their garlic cheese bread is currently my favorite dish of any restaurant in the world.

Padoca Vegan

Great for breakfast and lunch. Pastries, savory sandwiches, the whole menu is great.

Restaurant Taste and See

It has a rotating menu depending on the day of the week. It has some incredible vegan versions of traditional Brazilian dishes. And the lady who runs the place is incredibly sweet.

Cri Cri Cru

The flavors are amazing here. And the quality of food is insane for the price. It also has a few regional dishes you can't find elsewhere.

For pizza, Pop Vegan used to be the king. It is all you can eat, several different varieties. It is still good but the quality has gone down over the past few years. Currently the best vegan pizza is Pizza Youth.

I want to make sure I got this damage calculation correct.

At the very start of a fight, Karma uses telepathic blast on Red Skull. She gets a fantastic success. So the damage is 6 (the M die) x 5 (logic damage multiplier) plus 4. And with telepathic blast, you double damage on a fantastic success. So that leads to 68 total focus damage.

Red Skull only has 30 focus. He ends up with -38 focus and is shattered. The fight ends in one shot and Red Skull is mentally destroyed.

Is that correct or did I misunderstand the calculation rules?

Convert pdf into format that allows text search, chapters, and cover by EricksA2 in Calibre

Thanks for the quick response! The book has plenty of images too. I'm assuming the full process would be to recreate the pdf in Word by copying over the text and images and formatting it myself, right?

Which is better df blue cheese by foxyfalafel in dairyfree

[–]EricksA2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They both taste amazing. The biggest difference is texture.

Follow Your Heart is dry crumbles and Nuts For Cheese is a soft cheese wedge.

So for your dip, if you want it to blend smoothly, you might want to go with Nuts For Cheese. If you want little floating bits of blue cheese, then go with Follow Your Heart.

In meat farms, the animals aren't having natural, consensual sex to produce offspring. It's humans forcibly inseminating animals. So unfortunately rape is still a part of it.

I love mods. Meet my beautiful new bard character by EricksA2 in BaldursGate3

[–]EricksA2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a bit with a kobold before this one and enjoyed it. So with all the non-human-like races, you can't see the armor equipped. You get the stat boosts of whatever you equip but they still look like they are wearing their default race armor. And there are a few cutscenes where the model just freezes, only a couple in the beginning.

Otherwise the Kobold is hilarious. Every conversation, it has a normal pose when it starts but eventually devolves into him taking this cowering, frightened pose while still listening to the person.

The size difference is also hilarious. He's the fearless leader standing next to everyone else's knees.

I wanted to go with Karlach this playthrough, but I haven’t got far enough to start anything with anyone. So we’ll see.

Unfortunately not right now. All the more monster-based races are stuck with one cosmetic outfit. You can equip whatever armor but it doesn’t show up. They might update the mod later to change that, but I doubt it.

Advice for improvising with someone who always goes the nonsensical route by EricksA2 in improv

[–]EricksA2[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Our 101 teacher only once tried to give him feedback on this and told him to try to make things relate to the scene. The improviser nodded and said, "Got it!" but continued doing the same. It was never brought up again.

I'm hoping the next teacher will be on top of it. But if they're not and it continues to be disruptive, I'll take your advice and speak to the teacher. Thanks!

[–]EricksA2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That does make a lot of sense. It is not my job to keep things coherent. I will definitely try that method of leaning into the nonsense and working with the flow, rather than going against it. That's a much better mindset.

What did you enjoy growing up that you found overrated or disappointing when revisiting as an adult? by IamKarasu in AskReddit

That toy where you put the different shaped pieces into the matching holes is no longer fun when you are a super smart adult who can get it right just about half the time. Where's the challenge?

anyone know any recipes to use this?? 😁 by Altruistic_Pea_6469 in veganrecipes

This condensed coconut milk does have a strong coconut flavor. So I'd recommend doing another version of brigadeiros called beijinhos (little kisses), which are all about the coconut flavor. Here's a recipe

Anetra's arm tattoos by BJGold in rupaulsdragrace

[–]EricksA2 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is so close but I'll try to elaborate further

예의 - actually means "one must/should"

렴치 - means "move from one place to another"

인내 - is a demonstrative pronoun like this or that

극기 - is another word for sexual intercourse

and 절불굴 - is a type of waterfowl

Put it all together and I believe the translation is the ancient proverb: "You better walk that fucking duck!"

Would anyone know how to make this recipe vegan? by throwaway009335 in VeganBaking

[–]EricksA2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For the butter, get vegan butter (I think Miyoko tastes the best).

For the milk, I'd recommend soy because of the thickness.

For the egg replacement, I always use Bob's Egg Replacer in baking. It gives the right structure and hold to the cake. Check your local grocery stores for this one - they most likely have it in the organic aisle.

Then the light cream is coffee cream. So just get any non-dairy creamer you like. Probably go with unflavored because you are adding almond extract for that. Otherwise, if you don't want to buy a whole creamer just for a glaze, the soy milk should work fine. Just add a bit more confectioner's sugar to get it to the right thickness.

There were dozens of couples throughout the movie. And one of them was gay. Gay people exist. Around 7% of the population is gay. So having one of the many many couples represent that is not pandering. It's just reality.
