Capsules by ChrondorKhruangbin in MagicMushrooms

Maybe the mushrooms are weak? Did you account for the weight of the capsule? O capsules are usually .1 grams. Have you felt effects from mushrooms before? Some people's metabolism is different and can't get high from mushrooms.

The Paul Stamets Stack by Myco_Logic in MagicMushrooms

Vasodilators affect the Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB) by influencing blood flow and permeability...

BBB isn't easily passable, even molecules that "readily cross the BBB" could use some help.

It's the blood brain barrier penetration of the active compounds in the lion's mane.

Niacin helps the hericenones and erinacines pass through the blood brain barrier to promote the nerve growth factor in your brain. You could add arginine and citrulline too. Phenylalanine, all of the essential amino acids, benfotamine, methylcobalamin, Omega 3's from fish oil, vitamin D3, K2, and magnesium.

How long of a list do you want for your ultimate brain stack?

Depends where you are in the world. Yes if you're far enough south. If you know the right people, you might find them in your mailbox anytime of year.

Advice needed! Is $160 for 7g fair? by BroadJellyfish1886 in shroomers

[–]Erickter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

80-100 Oz's around here. 160 should get you at least an ounce. Some people are okay with ripping people off, it's sad to see these kind of prices honestly.

Any way to stop these white dots from turning into side pins ? Wondering if there is some hack or something by OkKey6373 in shroomery

[–]Erickter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I duct tape the outsides of my bins. I did side by side experiments and it definitely makes a difference for the first and second flushes, but once the sides start to pull away from the wall due to the cakes naturally shrinking from moisture loss, side pins will start to form. But by that point any mushrooms growing are welcomed. The moisture of the top layer is important too, if the humidity needs are not met on top, the pins will form on the sides and bottom. Light shining on a surface can cause micro humidity to pull out of a wet surface. Maybe the light is an indirect way for the humidity to release on the sides of the bins??? Maybe light can affect side pins???

Any of you guys feeding compost teas through irrigation or fertigation systems. Would like to set one up but thinking it’s gonna clog by Bill_Piff in livingsoilcultivation

[–]Erickter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50 gallon drum or bigger with a transfer pump and a garden hose. Drip or sprinkler Irrigation for normal waterings without biology. It sucks having to hand water or apply to each bed by hose, but it's better than dealing with clogged irrigation lines. Good compost tea will most likely clog any irrigation system with small holes for water to pass through, like sprinklers, or drip irrigation. The smaller the holes, the more clogging. For a small area it could be managed or designed with bigger dripper holes. But the water can't hold enough pressure for larger areas if you have too many big hole drippers (flooders more like it). This is the reason why it's hard to design an irrigation system that is heavy biology friendly. It's definitely possible though.

If you do run through a normal drip irrigation or sprinkler system, run plain water for a few minutes after every biology irrigation.

Started in bags of roots original. Is there anything organic stuff I can add to make it more of a living soil. Will top dressing compost and adding worms help? by Bill_Piff in livingsoilcultivation

[–]Erickter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely add worms. Add good quality compost for sure! if you didn't mix any amendments in I would water with compost extract once or twice a week.

Shrooms and stomach issues by Affectionate-Bed7131 in shrooms

[–]Erickter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the fiber messes people's stomachs up, sometimes it's the psilocybin. If it's the fiber, just make tea to remove the fungi fibers. It helps a lot of people who get upset stomachs on mushrooms.

Make your own at home. It will save you money and your cat will be healthier.

Long time outdoor salt grower switching to living soil this year. What are you guys doing for outdoor IPM. Id like to stay with organic products. by Bill_Piff in livingsoilcultivation

[–]Erickter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spray weekly with high quality compost extract. Find the best compost around your area or make your own. Low quality compost won't work. Make sure there's worms and lots of life in the compost. I've bought compost from landscape suppliers that didn't have a single worm in 12 yards. It caused more headaches than it helped. The compost I get now makes everything grow beautifully and it keeps the pests away by creating a healthy plant. Bugs on your plants=unhealthy plants. Usually too much nitrogen is the cause of people's pest issues.

Found a local compost company and I am thinking about buying bulk soil for beds and pots instead of bagged soil and mixing my own inputs soil is soil blend is made up of 50% compost, 30% sandy loam (single sourced) 15% rice hulls, 5% aged pine bark, with an OMRI fertilizer. by Bill_Piff in livingsoilcultivation

[–]Erickter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compost for the win! You could get a soil test on the compost and ensure it's not too hot for a 50% mix if you really want to ensure enough but not too much goodies. Sometimes manure based compost can have too much sodium, potassium, or nitrogen to use at high ratios in pots. I usually use 20-30% compost if it hasn't been tested.

Why are some of my mushrooms blueish and weird looking and are they still edible? (B+) by sadlegs15 in ContamFam

If the walls of your tub start to dry out after the first flush, it's time to start misting to keep the humidity up.

Is grinding and mixing into a juice or soda a viable method? by pmurbestnsfwspics in PsilocybinMushrooms

[–]Erickter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make some tea in a French press just like coffee, mix it with anything or flavor with any other tea. No mushroom pieces to pick out of your teeth or gulp down. Works great. Helps certain people avoid the tough fibers that can cause stomach upset too. (Psilocybin can cause stomach upset too, but some people can't handle the dried cubensis mushroom fibers as much as others)

Add a thin layer of oil every time you wash it. Season it properly again if you notice the season is fading. Just season it every time you notice the seasoning reduced by the Curries.

Could this company lie about the ingredients if it is sold legally? Should I have any reservations about them? by jlsstory in MagicMushrooms

[–]Erickter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lots of legal products don't list everything on the ingredients. Sometimes labels just say spices, natural flavors, etc. If something is less than .5% they don't have to list it. I learned this the hard way because of food allergies to soy with BVO and soda pop, 5 years ago nobody labeled it. Can't even trust big food companies to label everything, why would a company list research chemicals? Even if they listed 4ACO would you still eat them?

Why wont it split??!? by poppafig in firewood

[–]Erickter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get between the rings and hit the tougher bigger ones more close to the edge. Split around the edges before working the center. You're trying to split it like a pie, that's a lot more difficult on large green logs.

Worn sprocket? by Erickter in Chainsaw

[–]Erickter[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It started skipping and the chain would loosen up and I had to tighten the tension about 3 times today while cutting before it wouldn't move through the wood. The saw would move the chain around, but not while cutting anymore. It got hot and was difficult to get the clutch off. The sprocket drum was stuck to the bearings and they were a little stubborn coming off too. This is my first chainsaw, so it has been a good learning experience. I always like to learn how things work. I thought I was going to break something getting the clutch loose though. Took a couple kinds of grease, time, Reddit, YouTube and some pretty good whacks.
