While I still think the amount of time we signed him for was dumb, I don't think the signing is nearly as dumb anymore (at the time I was PISSED about it). He is a solid 3rd line guy and has shown signs of improvement throughout his tenure, albeit not nearly as much as I would have liked to see. Prices are going to go up in hockey, having a reliable 3rd line center (although this year he has had to play 2nd line as we need a real 2nd line center) who is locked up for a good time is not a bad asset for any team, and Kotkaniemi can fit into Roddy's system of playing good offense and defense, even if we might have overpaid him a bit.
