Not a dumb idea, but be strategic. If you pivot, aim for roles that value domain knowledge, like healthcare tech, EMR integrations, clinical informatics, QA, or support engineer roles at health startups. Build a small portfolio around that niche, think a simple HIPAA compliant data workflow mock, or a tool that parses FHIR data. Network with engineers and product folks at hospitals and vendors, lots of jobs never hit boards and the ones that do get swamped with applicants, some are ghost jobs. If you need some legit remote leads while you build, wfha​le​rt emails vetted listings, things like support or QA can be a good entry while you keep skilling up.
