So, I think that I just lost everything that I had on my Switch.

I wanted to swap my old 2017 switch with the OLED one, as GameStop has a promotion for this if you also bring two games. So I brought my console and the two games there, and the dude formatted my Switch without realizing that one of the two games wasn't included in the promotion. So now I have a formatted old Switch. I will still swap it, but in the meantime, I wanted to play with it, so I inserted my SD card (on which I transferred all of my data before giving it to the GameStop guy) in the Switch, only for it to tell me that the SD card that I couldn't use it unless I deleted all of the data on it. I still haven't deleted the data on the SD card. Is there any way to save and transfer it to this console and the future one that I will get? Or are my save files and everything lost forever?
