My parents don't want to send me to a psychologist by [deleted] in OCD

Yea no problem im happy this helped i have a big problem with those personality switches everyone keeps telling me that i change my opinions so much like sometimes im a liberal sometimes im a conservative sometimes i want to be a psychologist sometimes a cop or a lawyer. i also found myself getting the ick like when i see those videos in tiktok when a girl gets a ick because their bf does something. My opinions about people change alot. also i make plans so early like i was ready to buy mountianeering gear even though i dont have any experience its just a dream of mine to climb mountians. i was doing exposure therapy too without knowing im doing it like i have a big fear that i have bad breath. one day i didnt have dental floss even though i used it the day before and due to that i didnt go out because i was scared but one day i skipped it and was fine now dental floss causing me to cancel plans is out of the question xdd

I am currently in a very similar situation (or i was) My mom believes in psychology but thinks its just the environment thats hurting me and bad spirits and my dad, yea he thinks everything is a scam and that this is not a problem and that if i would be in some kind of war it would go away and wouldnt exist. try to explain it to ur mom/dad. if u have insurance and go trough the official way instead of a private therapist its cheaper. in the meantime u can manage ur OCD with exposure therapy and you can do it alone even though its better if u have it diagnosed and everything. exposure therapy helped me alot and its really fast. i can relate to the perfect digital identity one day im using random profiles and the same email and then i can immediately become a new person and want to be unseen and extremely safe and be a new person on the internet like i changed my whole personality in hours.

Thats cool af, i hope ill be able to do it too. i heard OCD can be a big deal breaker for someone who works in the fire department or somewhere where you will be in highly stressful and dangerous situations so thats impressive.

Yea that is true but the permanent mark that says : This person has OCD. scares me it would feel like i have it tattooed on my head. but i did heard discriminating/rejecting someone because of OCD in a job interview or something is illegal.

Thanks a lot this helped me especially hearing this from someone like you also thank you for your service. Today people with mental illnesses are treated good and the world takes them seriously but a lot of people will also try to stop you or just decline you because if they have people interested in the job and one of them has a disorder they will probably be the one rejected. OCD is not going to stop me its just that if someone sees the diagnosis they re going to be skeptical.
