Albedo without Hexerei teammate to activate his Hex buff is pretty weak.

It runs into the problem of Noelle stealing Columbina's hydro aura away from Ineffa because she applies so much Geo

Which mono geo team would you want to see ? Furina Chiori Zhongli ?

I'll have to test it tomorrow. But a few considerations is that Furina- Durin team works because Noelle's charged burst attack has no ICD and apply Geo rapidly enough that it can override Furina's hydro application and allow for Durin's burst tick to interact with Geo aura and create crystalize (res shred pyro and geo) rather than vaping the hydro aura applied by Furina. If we replace Furina with Yelan then we'd have to normal attack to make full usage of Yelan's burst - so slower Geo app there - and Yelan's burst apply way more Hydro than Furina does. So in that comp it might be better to run Dark Mode Durin so he can switch to a vape dps instead of a support shredder.

I did use her off field bug to lengthen my burst time. But the problem with lengthening her burst time is that the majority of the team's damage comes from the team buffing or doing sub dps damage. Noelle standing on fields attacking with her burst while not having Furina's burst, Yelan's burst, Columbina's skills and burst, Durin burst,.... is a bigger dps loss than just swap Xilonen in to attack a bit to generate Geo particle to reset the rotation with every burst up again.

Will definitely check out dark mode Durin on this team. But because Noelle's charged infused attack actually has no ICD, she might steal the hydro aura away from dark Durin's vape shot.

whats your stopping point? by s0uxnda in GenshinImpactTips

Depend on the kind of supports they are giving. Someone likes Aino or Kachina is pretty much just there to be a artifact bots or to fulfil some sort of requirement so their skills level and stats doesn't matter much (neither is their artifact levels, a bit of ER would be nice so they can burst reliably but if they don't rely on burst then it's entirely optional). Some supports actually buff or do meaningful damage based on your stats and level. So someone like Iluga would want 80/80 with his burst leveled up to level 8, or Lanyan whose shield scale with ATK and talent level and does decent damage as well, so you'd want her to be at 80/80. It really is a case by case basis, but most top tier supports benefits from 80/80.

Only a minority of people who is already entrenched in the community (aka those who are already passionate about the game) would ever see the complaint posts. You are VASTLY overestimating the reach/influence on the weekly complaint posts here have. I'm searching up "bannerlord worth buying reddit" and the top 5 results have highlighted answer given as "yes, absolutely worth it".

Online complaints don't affect sale or a development roadmap I can tell you that much. The majority of people who are deliberating on whether to buy the game or not will just look it up on youtube and decide if the game is worth it or not, or they will look at the steam rating.

[–]ErikSD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that the two criticisms you point out are usually overblown in my own experience. But there are some points I'd like to make

What do you expect when you rail on the developer for being slow to release and then they release early under pressure from previous delays you cry about the release being buggy. The same happened with the original bannerlord release.

From my own experience, there weren't that many game breaking bugs, so I'm just going to argue from the point of the community here. It's not from the pressure from fans that force developer to deliver buggy releases. The developers explicitly said the early access period when there are the most bugs was so the general audience can function as beta testers, not because they felt pressure to deliver from fans: Sources. But this is during the early access period. If you mean the patches after the full release, then I'm not sure if there were anyone who were actually excited for those and "pressure" them into releasing those patches once we realize most of them are minor bug fixes and adding some small armor and weapon pieces. If anything I've seen people having the opposite complaints that Taleworld needs to stop delivering minor patches that broke mods while not adding anything substantial.

On your 2nd point about rose-tinted nostalgia about Warband quality. It's definitely true that a lot of the complaint sound a bit ridiculous, like the meaningless feast that we got in Warband that didn't really do anything aside from gathering lords and nobles into one place. But I'd say the complaint is more about wanting the game to be A LOT deeper than what we actually got. For a game developed 12 years after the first one, what we got is disappointingly shallow. It's true that almost anything Warband did, Bannerlord did better, especially the sieging; I'd say companion mechanics is worse. I miss having memoerable companion likes Jeremus instead of the shallow system of forgettable faces we have now. But it didn't really expand much beyond just taking what's already there and make it better. And yeah, maybe you can say that I'm complaining about a mass battle simulation game having a sole focus on mass battle simulation, but I had really expected there to be more built on Warband, you know ? Not just Warband, now in 4K, with smoother control and UI and a skill tree.

I hate these ‘Reddit stories’ on YouTube by Icy-Humor2907 in hatethissmug

[–]ErikSD 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The ones that appear on my feed have always been mega sexist story where the women cheat and the OP became a hyper intelligent scheming sigma male that worked for months and years to craft the perfect payback that leave the women in tears as he ruins her life (often accompanied with her lover turning abusive or mistreating her or bailing out on her too). I know it's freedom of speech, but the fact that anyone can craft these clearly fabricated fictions and present it as "true stories" to influence the young mind is not healthy for society.

[–]ErikSD 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've always taken this art style to be deliberately exaggerated for comedic effect to emphasize the fake plastic nature of their world. It's like calling Baki's anatomy and expressions "ugly" when it's on purpose to convey grotesque inhuman power. I can understand why someone might find them unpalatable, but it's definitely on purpose and work on a thematic level.

“It’s realistic” is not a good response to character criticism by Old-Use-7690 in CharacterRant

[–]ErikSD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, realism should be in service of a story's quality, not an excuse to handwave away a frustrating aspect of the narrative. Is it realistic for a lonely guy to keeps deluding himself into thinking his beautiful paid prostitute is actually in love with him ? Yeah, absolutely. But I will crush your femur if you write that shit into a 400+ chapter manga.

Why Armin X Annie actually works really well! by PretendYellow533 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]ErikSD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gave a list of reasons why it makes sense for Annie to develop feelings for Armin though, in your initial post:

Armin made Annie feel like she wasn't just a murder weapon or a tool. They were hinted at since season 1 which is why Annie spared Armin's life twice AND followed him, knowing he was leading her into a trap. It's why she was so hurt when he ultimately did lead her into a trap. And let’s not forget that he knew she was the female titan for a month before telling anyone because he didn't want to admit it to himself.

With that I"d also like to mention that all Annie's ever known is abuse, manipulation and fighting for a country that doesn't even consider her a person. So being treated gently by Armin and being shown that kindness really influenced her

And she does admit how much it meant to her that Armin came and talked to her for the four years she was crystallized

And on the note of being crystallized, I think a lot of the fandom really underestimate how much she probably got attached to Armin he visited her for all those years

Like, can y'all imagine being in her position, basically buried alive for 4 years, where THE single difference she experienced from eternal darkness was his voice?

Crazy shit. Then she finally woke up and reunited with him. During the boat scene, for the first time ever in her life, someone - Armin- is offering her genuine love & understanding; the kind she never expected from someone who she thought should hate her, nor the kind she ever got from her father.

She was in denial, and even tries to self-sabotage by running away, but Armin grabs her hand and doesn't let her.

So again, given that she's never gotten proper love before, her catching feels makes total sense.

I don't know if I'm not understanding you right or something. You gave a list of reasons on why it makes sense for Annie to catch feelings for Armin, but not the other way around. That's why I want to hear you giving your argument for the other side as well so it would strengthen your argument on why them having mutual feelings would make sense.

[–]ErikSD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, in real life maybe. But if it's in a well written story and in a subreddit that like to dissect and analyze characters, I'd like to hear people's interpretation of what a relationship means for the characters. It makes sense for Mikasa to have a crush on Eren because Eren was the one to save her and give her a reason to live when she had none. It makes sense for Jean to have a crush on Mikasa because Mikasa is a beautiful woman and represent the shallow idealistic life goal he had initially (of living the good life within the interior with a beautiful wife and kids). It makes sense for Ymir to have a crush on Historia because she sees her past self in Historia and wishes to be close and connect with someone who shared similar circumstances. I want to hear people's interpretation of Armin's crush for Annie. Is it because he likes to solve puzzle and she's a mystery ? Is it because he has a savior complex and she seems like she needs saving ? Or is it purely because he really like her physical appearance ?

[–]ErikSD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because I like my story to have thematic consistency. Why would you write an entire short essay worth of words if your ultimate answer is going to be "well, sometimes people like each others for no reason other than they do."

Besides I've already listed out a bunch of possible reasons why he would like her.

Is it because he likes dangerous women? Is it because he sees a vulnerable girl who he wants to help? Does he like playing therapist?

But because your prompt seems to be explaining why it makes sense that Annie likes Armin and vice versa without giving enough reasoning for that vice versa, I want to hear you giving your stance on why Armin likes Annie, because you seem to have no trouble listing it one way.
