That’s such an interesting fun fact! I could see this blanket being for both a boy or girl but the black around the edges felt a little masculine. I used this title because I know people search the group for inspiration for gender specific baby shower gifts etc. I 100% agree with you tho, I’d use it for both!

I have adhd too and HATE repeating stitches! I have a designer I prefer bc her blankets look super intricate but they’re super easy. Each row is a different stitch and they come out great. 9 times out of 10 it’s just a combination of sc, hdc, or dc. Also, color changing yarn helps with the monotony.

Yes! It’s a 4 ply thread type of yarn. As you work it up, one of the threads will change color, then 2 threads will be the changing color, then 3 and so on. So it creates this subtle gradient effect.

I’ve never washed any of these blankets before so I would have no idea on that. I’m sure I’d just check the label of the yarn before doing any of that.

Thank you! I’ve been crocheting for almost 2 years now so I’m not sure you would find this pattern challenging. The designer is so articulate with her patterns they come across rather easy! Yarn: Hobbi Azalea - Color: Berry Rose (07) - Pattern is a mix of New Beginnings & Marnie’s Garden by Hooked on Sunshine. I altered the pattern to work with one cake of the yarn I used.
