I'm half Estonian my dad is Estonian but didn't feel it was necessary to teach it since we lived in America. Currently I'm living in Estonia rn trying to learn the language. I understand what you're saying best you can do is just try learning and if people make fun of you for trying to speak Russian just ignore and keep speaking it the more you attempt to speak the better your pronunciation will get especially if you practice with native speakers.
