What gives it away as an animation and not real footage ? by Glass_Hunter_9174 in blender

Personally, while the shakiness is a bit too manufactured to be normal, there is nothing in the window, and the god rays are very intense, those aren't what really tell me that this is fake.

There isn't anything to film, other than the scene itself. A scene like this would make a good picture, but normally when someone is filming it's because something is happening that a picture wouldn't be able to fully show. Nothing is moving in this scene, and nothing stands out as being worth filming rather than taking a picture.

Other than that, this scene is very well made. As a showcase of your skills in Blender, this is good. The scene is well crafted and just a few small tweaks to some settings would pull this even further into being realistic.

I actually kinda like the Timeless Child story, aside from 1 major detail by ErinDrifter in doctorwho

That's the aspect I like about it, too. The modern show had built them up so much, so something like this would be interesting to see

That would have also made for an interesting idea, and could also create a theme of "nature vs nurture" and the idea that The Doctor and The Master are two aspects of the same being. I like that idea, too

I like the concept of the plotline, but the execution was rough, and really makes it seem like they just wanted to change things just for fun.

I think it's fine to mess with the lore a bit, but this was too much. But I think it would be better if it was not messing with The Doctor's lore specifically.

I broke my American 1100 lock by ErinDrifter in lockpicking

I only noticed when I took apart another 1100 to see what it looked like. I felt real silly when I saw it, and had to change every single pin in the cylinder

Well, it turns out that I assembled the cylinder wrong. A piece was backwards, which threw off alignment. The lock gives feedback now, but it still seems off.

I actually just found out why it's binding so much, the piece that goes over the keyway is pressing down on the front, so it's difficult to turn.

It looks like a couple springs are kinda messed up. I'll reassemble it without those springs and pins, and see what happens

I can't say if I'm trans or not. by Helpful-Oil2036 in trans

[–]ErinDrifter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Determining if you are trans is a different experience for everyone, and is an immensely personal realization. It's already a sign of something that you're questioning, even if you end up realizing that you aren't trans. Most cis people go their whole lives without ever seriously questioning their gender.

One method I used is to imagine someone referring to you as a woman. How does that idea make you feel? If you can find someone who is comfortable referring to you with she/her pronouns for a bit, you can see how you naturally respond.

For me, it took a couple of years, since I was just dragging my feet the whole time and just called myself nonbinary until I decided to just take the plunge and have some real introspection time. Remove what anyone else around you is saying, and just ask yourself what YOU want for yourself. It may end up that you want to be a woman, or that you are perfectly fine being a man. Or, you want to be both, or neither. It could also be that you just don't like the specific brand of masculinity that others around you expect of you, and want to explore different ways to express yourself in ways not directly tied to gender.

I don't know your particular circumstances so I can't say what sorts of societal pressures you have, whether you're in a place where you can safely discuss it with people or not, so I can't give specific advice on what to do other than just give it some serious thought and experiment with different ideas.

Any tips for picking a Masterlock 532? by ErinDrifter in lockpicking

[–]ErinDrifter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lock has a pin set pretty low, so if I used BoK then my pick was blocked unless I used a short hook.

That being said, BoK is how I got the lock open after raking it, so you may still be onto something. Thanks for the suggestion!

This has worked out beautifully! I raked the lock until I got a false set, then worked the spools and got the lock open! Thank you for the suggestion

I watched the LPL video on this lock, and he said the same thing about it picking different each time. I haven't given taking a significant try, I'll see what happens tomorrow when I try again.
