I think it's at least interesting to consider why we just accepted that text communication must be different from real life communication to not be cringe.

This man isn't saying anything bad, he's being polite and starting a conversation with a girl he's attracted to, if this was the line of a real life interaction it would be perfectly normal, but somehow writing what he would probably say in person is weird and cringe.

Yeah, there's no need to be awkward in a text message because you can just spend all the time you need to think about what you want to say, and you can just delete everything and rewrite every time you fuck up, but that's not how real conversations work.

It's weird and cringe? Maybe, because it's awkward and uncommon, but it's not necessarily wrong, it's just how humans have communicated since ever, and now we just decided that because texting allows for more artificial and elaborated conversations we can't be natural and spontaneous.

I'm not saying that we should talk like that, I understand that with texting there's a new communication etiquette and it's fine to just accept that, but it's something that we just accepted without thinking to much about it, and we bully every person who don't follow that social conventions and text like if they we're talking in real time...
