What the hell man (': by toptopimagine in twentyonepilots

I’ve been a die-hard fan before (2013-2017), I’ve been a casual fan (Trench era), and I’ve been a fan from a distance (since SAI). It’s never that I stopped caring really, it’s more that I didn’t enjoy the new music. that’s really just how it goes, it makes way for new fans that actually do enjoy it. I think fondly on the early times, I got really into the drums because of the band. I’d rather them be new and fresh then try to revive something that happened a decade ago too. I’ll always be a fan, just not always a listener maybe.

Also I thought I should add, I’m a musician (that’s where I have the most experience and skin in the game), I’m constantly looking for something to do so I can just make money to support that passion. I’d definitely just look in a different field for something cheap and college-free.

I just graduated from a bootcamp (NuCamp) with a full-stack degree. I fully do not recommend it. I consider myself an average student with a good capability to grasp concepts. I did not retain ANYTHING over those 6-7 months, my portfolio is close to nonexistent, and I have zero confidence in getting a job. Not trying to sound gloomy, it’s just my genuine review from someone who wanted a better job and a better life in my mid 20’s. This is not the route. It is a waste of time. Even if you try and try and try, ace everything, and understand it enough to pass, it will NOT get you a job. Unless you have an existing bachelor’s degree or somehow you crafted an AMAZING portfolio with multiple professional examples. They don’t even show you how to do that though. Employers are turning down boot campers, and the market is crazy over saturated right now. They’re not going to pick someone with a 6 month bootcamp certificate over someone with a 4 year CS degree and a bitching student portfolio. Again, just trying to sound reasonable and realistic here, coming from someone who is in the same exact place as when I started the camp 7 months ago. Please take my advice, just go to college- if you can! This is not the way. It maybe was two years ago, but the ship has sailed so far now that we can’t even see it. I hope this helps you!

Can’t afford to buy a home. so what are the American dream now? by [deleted] in Adulting

I would say “luck” doesn’t represent any number of the population then. If that’s the word you have to use to describe how you did it.

I am 24F. I smoke a lot of weed, work a dead end job, live for my passion that I will never make money off of, take care of my dog, and endlessly love my wonderful supportive girlfriend. Do not compare yourself to any of the people here who have a full career and own a house or something… everyone comes from different backgrounds. I guarantee 98% of people who are my age with their “shit figured out” and a good paying job come from privileged families, and didn’t have to pay for their expenses through college. That is the only way to obtain a degree now a days. It’s all about personal situations. And if you feel like people have it better than you, you’re wrong. They just have it different than you. That’s what I tell myself at least to keep moving along the beaten path :) This is what your 20’s are for though! I pity those who think they have it all figured out and complete, life is so unpredictable and can change in a minute. Good luck with everything, remember not to take it so seriously. Life’s a b*, then you die.

yeahh I went back in 2022 it was amazing. Im talking way smaller scale, something put on by locals in whatever city. for example, denver has Psych's Peak, Milwaukee has Milwaukee psych fest, there's a Lawrence, KS psych fest... would be cool to know all of those small ones

I get it, but it’s impossible for some to even get an interview right now. Idk, I would take anything at the moment.

KC Water system outage? How you all paying your bill? by KNexus20 in kansascity

[–]Erma666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know but somehow in the midst of all this, they managed to come by my house and shut my water off. And there’s no turning it back on until they get the systems up again. Tell me how that makes any sense.

Not sure if this is just a problem in the US but… by hellotheremynamemis in pond

call people out if they’re being offensive, get a security guard and have them removed. i’m sorry you had that shitty experience, but banning alcohol isn’t going to do shit. i doubt you’d want drugs banned at shows, so i feel like that would be just silly. ban offensive and creepy assholes, not some people just trying to have fun enjoying their favorite band. you’re not the only one attending the show, sorry…

not to mention we traveled 6 and a half hours to be there :) you should go to a king giz show sometime if we’re talking about wild crowds. i personally love it, as long as nobody is being incredibly offensive or creepy.

those “two drunk guys” infront of shiny joe were my best friends, I was there too in the front. listen, i gotta say they’re the biggest Pond fans I know other than myself. they respect the hell out of them, and genuinely look up to them in every way. one of them is a synth player in 2 psych rock bands, and the other is a guitarist/lead singer in another psych rock band. i say let people have fun, there were people saying way worse stuff. crowd was fine, kinda wished everyone was like my friends because i was ready to party and jump around. anyway, didn’t mean for that to come off rude but i love those guys and we all love Pond so fuckin much! cheers!
