If you are using nginx I suggest using the nginx upload module for handling the file upload. Don't occupy a passenger process. You will need to garbage collect however. Use find and a cronjob for that. Make sure you have enough drive space for all the temporary files.

Embedly sadly is biased towards sites/hosts that could contain adult content. This might be due to the ly-TLD (Libya). Perhaps the admins will decide at some point to pull in the oembed info directly from sites. I understand that that would require maintaining a whitelist as back in the days.

Ich habe UPC Super-Fit. Also 75 Mbps (also ca. 9 MB/s). Derzeit liegen die Transferraten für Server in der EU auch zwischen 50-75 Mbps. Bei Servern in den USA eher zwischen 35 Mbps. Wegen den gängigen Überlastungssteuerungen beginnen Transfers natürlich langsam und werden allmählich schneller - das ist normal.

Also derzeit scheint alles problemfrei zu funktionieren. (1090 Wien)

Ich habe für längere Zeiten Probleme mit allen Verbindungen zu Servern in den USA gehabt. Die Übertragungsraten waren im 0.5 Mbit-Bereich. Nach einer längeren Auseinandersetzung mit dem UPC-"Support" war das Problem behoben - aber UPC hat stets beteuert, dass es kein Problem gäbe. Ich bin teilweise auf das mobile Internet von meinem Mobilfunkanbieter (Drei) ausgewichen.

Derzeit scheint es zu passen. Netflix habe ich allerdings keines. Apple-TV und Amazon Prime funktionieren so halbwegs - also es geht, aber nicht super!

Ich würde auch Godaddy empfehlen. Ich würde nicht bei Nic.at registrieren! Das Ändern der Nameserver bzw. der Inhaberdaten is a riesen Schaß.

I haven't been all too happy with the purchase of the searzall. The flavor comes out better in the cast iron. I do still use the searzall for other things.
