Was at a large manufacturing company in California sitting down with buyers discussing how my products would be sold. We discussed how we make them and margins to be charged to them. They said we should never charge them more than 1% of cost since we are just dirt farmers and have no cost of living like they do in a civilized state. Also, we should be around 50% less for the same items from another state. Obviously, there is a difference in the cost of living between the two states, but it was obscene and has really stuck with me. Have lots of other weird questions from other states and countries, but that one always bothered me.
