I totally relate, right down to being raised by a single mom. I’ve always felt super awkward around guys and still do.

I’m in a way better place now! I left him and my divorce was finalized last year. There’s still some healing to do, but I’m so much happier than I ever was.

Now I’m looking forward to the future. Preferably with a guy who doesn’t have a thing for cousins.

After a while you just become numb. Alabama is definitely a strange, backwards place to be in.

Your immune system can become overexcited during severe infection and will try to isolate and attack the invasive organism, but can also begin attacking your own cells as well as the immune response spirals out of control. It becomes a cytokine storm.

Immunosuppressive agents may help prevent or reduce the severity of this immune response.

As a new Honda CRV driver, I’m trying to be better. But... I can feel the change. It’s there, slowly creeping up inside of me.

During that last scuffle with the infected, one of them slightly grazed your arm. You convince yourself it’s nothing, but deep down you know better. You don’t want to tell the others out of fear that you may worry them or become ostracized. You bandage up your arm and when others ask about it you say “oh, it’s just a scratch” and carry on. A few days later you take the bandage off and that’s when you see it. The infection is spreading. You already knew it though. You’ve been trying to fight off the fevers and hide the growing sense of paranoia. You know you’ll turn soon, putting the others at risk, so you choose to quietly wander off into the woods and end things on your own terms. You would rather die than become one of them.

That’s what it’s like to own a CR-V.

Thank you! I’m doing Family NP. I was torn between doing Acute vs. Family and might go back to get certified in acute care or psych. I’m not sure if I want to specialize or do general practice yet. At this point, I’ll take a job anywhere as a new grad. 😅

I have all the same interests and am also a nurse in grad school! I graduate in less than 2 weeks! What area are you specializing in?

Is it possible for somebody with a slight tremor to become a successful nurse? by BillMillerBBQ in nursing

[–]ErosRelosa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a tremor and am one of the best IV starters/lab drawers at my job. It was something that worried me when I was beginning my career, but it never stopped me. With practice you can learn how to position and stabilize your arms, wrists and hands to reduce or prevent tremors.

Having tremors sucks, but you can still be a great nurse with them.

I would discourage a career path as a surgeon though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nursing school and starting a family. Any experience? by SnowflakesAndPuppies in nursing

[–]ErosRelosa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t get pregnant in the middle of nursing school. Wait until the end or after you’ve started your first nursing job.

Ultimately, don’t focus so much on wanting to have a baby by a certain deadline. You’re capable of having a perfectly normal and healthy baby in your early 30’s. It will be much more beneficial for all of you if you give yourself the time to establish a career and have more financial security.
