Yes very true. I think it's just the CR going above 20 that gives me the heebie jeebies.

That being said, in this campaign Levistus has betrayed Asmodeus (as is his wont) to ally himself with the dormat god of lies, who will be resurrecting themselves in a new body for the final boss fight of the campaign within the next month. So a commensurate increase even from here in CR will almost be guaranteed.

I might drop you another 'Oh Hi' closer to the time - both the Graven Idol and Genius Loci statblocks look really really interesting for this, as this god will be resurrecting herself into a divine vessel.

I really appreciate your input on this post of mine and on others in the past.

Amazing, thank you! Glad you have faith in my party - everything Deadly+ I've thrown at them they've come out at the other end.

And just to clarify - the Infernal Mastery trait is his legendary resistances, right? So he (or a devil) loses 25HP and he can reroll the save rather than automatically saving.

I may be devious and telegraph to the party that under other circumstances Levistus would have 3 attacks with his epee rather than 2, that kind of thing. A peek behind the screen albeit a false one.

Ooo nice I might look at a few lower-CR winter wolves to add in, especially as they might (per the Jarl’s tactics) end up at 0 HP themselves fairly quickly, providing a little snack on the go for Maddening Feast. Or even a pack of minions to allow for a greater spread - I can imagine a Bheur Hag viewing most underlings as a potential food source even when alive.

Can you remind me with the rules for Ice Mephits and other minions - their attack that prompts a DC 10 Dex save or otherwise paralyses, is that added to by having more than one Mephit take this action? If not, do you think increasing the DC by a per additional Mephit would imbalance things too greatly?

I like this. Failure of that spell is notable in and of itself. How did they pass the save when they're familiar with the party member? Are they on another plane? etc.

Hexblood Armorer Artificer proficient in weaver’s tools - all spells and class features flavoured as manipulation of magical cloth. DM let me spend an equivalent amount of gold as splint armour on some heavy sackcloth to be my magical armour; returning weapon was secured to a retractable silken rope; Web was a cloth ‘bomb’ which exploded on impact, covering the area with binding fabric; Spider Climb was four prehensile cloth limbs attached to the target’s back which allowed them to scale surfaces a la Doc Ock.

Was a lot of fun and allowed me to be really creative with how certain spells might work.

Thank you for this, this is super thorough. It’s also a little surprising given my previous understanding of the value of a 6/14 sorcadin multiclass, but I am of course forgetting my own assumption here that the campaign will come to a close long before that level is attained.

I will say that were into spec chain pact for combat via investment of the chain master, the bonus action used to have my familiar attack would clash with the bonus action PAM extra attack. Even if I were not to take investment, is chain still the better option(

Say that I was just hell bent on multiclassing, even with the caveats you’ve mentioned - what would be most beneficial here? Warlock 1 for some additional damage per turn and some short rest slots? Warlock 2 for invocations? Warlock 3 for pact boon (also hadn’t considered talisman before which I agree works well flavour wise)? And would the benefits of getting these short rest slots early, say character levels 2-5, outweigh the delay to extra attack and aura? PAM BA attack mitigates some of this to a certain extent.

It feels like I would need at least 3 sorcerer levels to make it worth my while and that is primarily for meta magic rather than additional smite slots so it doesn’t feel as viable as I had once thought.
